Path of Exile 3.16 Balance - Part 1 - Flasks and Ailment Mitigation

Why do I get the feeling that minion builds are going to get hard by the aura and curse changes. A very simple change to affect party-wide auras is to halve the effect for nearby allies which would gut most minion builds. EE and EO changes will be interesting.
Seems like a step in the right direction. However it feels like Purity of Elements is now a mandatory aura.
"Finally we're changing Elemental Overload and Elemental Equilibrium and massively buffing elemental damage over time to be less dependent on them."

So Elemental Overload and Elemental Equilibrium will be nerfed.

- It's totally ok if I don't have to spend skill points to allocate new DOT skills.
-It's totally ok if I don't have to lose a gloves suffix to get that buffed DOT effect,
- or I don't have to reserve more mana to use buffed Malevolence.

Ailment avoidance was nerfed, but don't worry! Here is a new passive for it! The only thing U have to do, is to allocate it...

It's called monkey hand!

Making the game even more complex...is not solving a problem ....can we have just 3.13 back..and let people have fun ...without constantly nerfing the shit out of it. THANKS
If someone needs an hard mode ..just make an hard mode, and let the players on softcore have fun with their zoom zoom builds.
We need to make this game easier for new players not harder.
Stop trying to force this super complex system for no reason ...do not add more steps ..remove it.

Wow...
Bloating the mod pool of the items even more, and making actually usable flasks more RNG to obtain. SASUGA GGG

At least pantheon is not complete dogshit anymore according to the post.
Looks good so far, might even have overdone it on the ailment department.

some thoughts

- std flasks will be even stronger and the disparity between them and their non-legacy variants grows
- most of those changes however seem to reflect a decent understanding of different flask usage scenarios and the fact that some of them are primarily used reactively / proactively by people, good job
- purity of elements seems incredibly strong now, i can see every single character in HC going with 1 herald + purity of elements setup. it grants accessible immunity when stacking sources of avoidance can not easily reach 100% while progressing
- aside from that, i like the vector of the ailment and ele avoidance changes. 3.15 limited what was already hard to obtain, and for many people having their checklist of immunities covered is crucial for having a consistent and smooth experience with their build
- can't but agree with all the other people in this thread who have been sharing their sentiments about aura and curse support archetypes. there isn't a single well-designed game i can think of where 3x dps beats the efficiency of a tank, a dps, a support (analogically speaking), and i think this is perfectly fine. it incentivizes party play and socializing for those who like to play in a group, and i'm very keen to see if the next two days show that ggg understands this, or would rather see party play blown to pieces
- beyond should be 4 chaos as zana option again. i think this classifies as aura change

What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

Agree but i think it's ok. At least we can now get something more useful on our gear instead of wasting most of our affixes on resistances.
Not too thrilled about more crafting rng being introduced in the form of flask crafting. Crafting just feels so bad and dependent on luck now.

Also, it seems shield builds (already OP) are getting even more power. I played a shield crush build with a 1500 armor shield (half the armor of an endgame shield) and was able to delete tier 10 maps almost immediately after act 10 kitava.

I hope you guys knock it out of the park with scourge, and the teaser seemed interesting, but a lot of the recent changes have made the game less fun and engaging.

That said expedition was one of my favorite league mechanics in a long time, so maybe you can produce something phenomenal with scourge, I'm rooting for you guys.
