[3.15] Eye of Winter ES/LL Self-Cast Occultist

Oh nice, what did it have on it?

Also finding a chaos resistance ring with decent stat is so hard lmao. Been looking for days haven't actually seen one.

Boots with Tailwind (8% Cast speed and Movespeed)

Situational - Corrupted Snakepit with Poison or Ignite immunity or 16% all res (minor upgrade to the cold res).

Corrupted shield/gloves/helm.
Gloves and shield would be the easier ones.
Helm would have to be corrupted with a Eye of Winter enchant to truly be worth it.

Theoretically a perfect wand could be better than a Void Battery.
Would need to have +1 all spell gems, +1 cold spell gems, very good cold damage to spells or increased spell damage as last prefix. Suffixes would need to be equally perfect, with cast speed/crit chance to spells/crit multi.
With this mirror worthy wand you would maybe get another 5-10% damage, which is far from worth it for this build.

Just look at his character here:

Spoiler
It has +1 gems and +2 projectile gems, which is pretty awesome.
Around 30% damage boost in PoB.

Cost estimated at 50+ exalts probably.

I've done a lot of messing around in PoB. Tailwind is definitely a goal I have but the only way I can get boots with Tailwind is by changing the Dex/Int craft on my ring to a resist, then spend a single point on my passive tree for a +30 Dex node.

Both ailments are not really an issue, especially since I have both removals on flasks. The all resist instead of cold kind of falls into the same thing as the boots. The full on cold resist rounds out resists better than actually have all resists...oddly enough. Remember the goal is to have 95 to all your resists so that Elemental Weakness rolls on maps do nothing.

Corrupted shield...same as above. The resists are needed and having the 3 auras boosted with +1 gems/+2 aura double corrupt would be nice, but again would put me in a bad spot with resists.

Gloves...I don't need spell crit corrupt as I'm already capped. So that leaves like +ES or making Hydrosphere a bit better...meh.

Helm...yeah I guess an enchant with the +1 Power Charges corrupt would be nice...but good luck ever finding that lol

A mirror tier wand like you explained would be about a 2% DPS increase...I'm not even going to bother lol.

ok the flask it's my fault i forgot to get the others, i use it because i have that one with the anti-bleed roll, going to do the changes to my gear then.

on the damage side...i think i use hydrosphere in the wrong way, i cast it on the boss and i launch the eye of winter towards it to enable the pulsations and start to hit the boss, it's that the right way? i never used that skill till i started using this build, maybe some projectiles are lost in the way?

So even I'm very lazy about using Hydrosphere optimally but here's the 'right' way to do it.

You always want to cast your EoW over the middle of the boss, not over the Hydrosphere.

What you do with Hydrosphere is try to place it touching the boss, but sort of in a front-right or front-left position. This will catch a lot of projectiles that would have otherwise missed the boss and chain them back onto him.

Another suggestion would be to try and learn the 'range' of EoW. You want the final pulse of EoW to land directly on top of the boss. If you are too close or too far, you're hitting with a lot less projectiles and it would hamper your damage.

I fixed everything now, turns out my hydrosphere was absorbing many of the EoW proyectiles, i killed sirus A6 and went pretty smooth, and i managed to get 6.7K ES, going for A9 now, thanks! :D
What's the optimal positioning for Hydrosphere? I read somewhere that you want EoW to end on top of Hydrosphere and have the boss in between you and it.

Something like this:

Player----Boss----Hydrosphere

Is that correct?
So your cluster is nowhere to be found, been attempting to roll it still. Gonna use Blanketed Snow, Disorienting display on a triple atm. Until I somehow roll your cluster.

You don't have to get exactly my same cluster. To be honest I'm even tempted to try something a bit different.

Seal Mender is the only passive required. Burden Projection and Thaumophage are also VERY strong, and that's the trio I want to put some testing into.

I usually place my hydrosphere in the front right or left of the boss and shoot directly down the middle of the boss. This way hydrosphere catches a lot more projectiles that would've otherwise missed.

Hey, I'm feeling a bit lost currently. The damage/clear etc is great and I'm loving the build but I fail to understand how do you hit crit cap? Watcher's eye obviously but if I put one into my PoB it goes up to around 70% without diamond flask up.

https://pastebin.com/6SveMByh here's my PoB if anybody's willing to take a look :)

EDIT: Nvm I'm just stupid lmao

This is the one that I got at the moment.
The knock back is noticeable sometimes. Could be a bit more to be really reliable.
Not sure on the hinder, since I more or less didn't ever play without it.
