Righteous Fire

as it stands now, does GGG intend this to be a main skill or a buff skill?

also does the inc spell dog apply to righteous fire itself?

on a third note, the burn dmg % is way too high….. i mean we need to run all across the tree to get ALL the regen nodes

personally I feel like 50% to 60% is a good number and perhaps would only require half the regen nodes (still running across half the tree)
I don't think it was ever intended to keep this running all the time.
And if we still want to, hell, go and invest your skill points in it.

No.
The damage dealt by RF isn't exactly Spell Damage, it's a fire based degeneration effect. Burning damage will increase the damage done, as well as Fire damage increases and generic Damage over Time increases.
Sorry Exile, but your loot is in another dungeon!

What about Elemental Damage nodes, like those at the start of the Templar tree?
elemental damage, fire damage, burning damage, and area damage; are what i so far can confirm.

whats my rf burn dps ?

10479 max energyshield
1139 max life

All gems lvl 20

Increased burning damage
8% increased aoe dmg
concentrated effect
double redbeak 200% inc dmg
60% increased burning dmg from tree

thanks in advance !

I'm not entirely sure if concentrated effect is a good idea. RF has a base radius of 10, 30% smaller means it's about the same range as a melee attack with a 2-handed weapon. That, and I don't know if it does boost the damage or not.

Assuming it does:

((10479 + 1139) * 0.5) * (1+.6+.08+.59+2) * 1.69 = 5809 * 4.27 * 1.69 = 41,919.

Without:

Same as above sans the 1.69, or 24,804.

Your self-damage would be somewhere around 8000.
I was hoping someone would be able to layout the maths for me to work out what fire res I need to be able to run RF and breakeven degen/regen at say, 10%, 12% and 14% ES regen?

Is it as simply as, for example, to mitigate the 70% ES burn with 82% fire res, you need 11.2% ES regen?

Ie: 70%*(1-0.82)=11.2%?

Many thanks!

Petrov.

That is correct.

@ X% Regen:
1 - X/70 = Resistance needed

@ 10% Regen
1 - 10/70 = 86% Fire Resistance needed

@ 12% Regen = 83% Fire Resistance needed

@ 14% Regen = 80%Fire Resistance needed

Is there any plan to make IIR/IIQ gems or Fire Penetration gems work with RF?

I know its been said that fire penetration is an on hit effect, but nothing in the description makes it sound that way. As for IIR/IIQ, I dunno, just seems weird that it does not support it.
So people are still not sure about Righteous Fire and the Damage over Time nodes? Enemies, Self or Both?
