Development Manifesto: Harvest Crafting

"Items are too strong. We decided not to nerf them, but make them rarer. On the other hand, we will balance our content around high end items."

Cool stuff.
Poor players, how did they managed to play before Harvest was introduced I wonder? Crafting items and reaching endgame was probably impossible.
All this outrage about harvest nerf reminds me of a drug addiction. Players got an easy way to play while disregarding the rest of the game mechanics and now they can't live without it. The addition of targeted crafts was a big mistake and honestly it shouldn't have been added to core after the league ended because no other league had this mechanic and it was broken. But now it is too late to remove it completely, unfortunately.
Removing the annuls is the best solution if you want harvest crafts to remain in game at all - you still have targeted exalt and targeted lucky chaos rerolls but you can't reroll one particular mod indefinitely without any consequences or risk. Back to the gambling, which is the main idea of PoE.

Hahahaha, beautiful... This reminds me of "How people lived 100 years ago, before internet?... or 400 years ago, without electricity?? Times do change, and games MUST evolve, not take huge steps backwards!

Of course, if they want to stay on top of rankings for a longer period of time.

No, it's more like 100 years ago everyone burned coal uncontrollably, because it was easy and cheap and now countries are taking step back from it to use energy sources that are harder to get, more expensive but also more ecologically safe because burning coal affects planet as a whole. Targeted harvest crafting is a sweet poison that was damaging the game and it needed to be removed at least partially.

Stupid decision. You refuse to fix the fact that ALL end game items are crafted. Instead you just make it harder to craft them again. Don't bother fixing the fact that most loot filters filter out 99% of the loot because it is absolutely worthless to pick up. Instead you take away the only viable way to get decent items for people who don't play this game like their life depends on it.

I am sorry Chris, but you have lost your pulse on what players want. You talk about how most people quit before hitting yellow maps, then you have a league where people play into yellow maps, you take away the reason they even played in the first place. I can't believe how absolutely out of touch you are with your own player base and the design of this game.

This is spot on, Chris has not ben in touch for quite a long time, but he has completely lost touch now. so sad.

So harvest is an addiction and "back to gambling" is the solution ... ?!

Logic has left the room.

Very good argumentation.
And we are approching the 500 page mark!
Lets take a wild guess and see how long it will take to hit that mark, I say 2 weeks.

To be honest, I do disagree with the harvest change, but I already shared my point on it so I won't repeat it.
What I was a big mistake IMO, was to hide the general loot changes, the temple itemization, the lab speedrun monopoly and other meaning full changes.

To clarify, this was obviously a good teaser in general. But why go full on "HARVEST NERF IN 3.14!!!" and keep the rest hidden? It makes absolutely no sense.

What would have been better "Here is all the nerfed content (Devle, Harvest, Beastcrafting) and we will be revealing some Great QoL improvement in the 3.14 reveal" OR "There is some major changes coming with all league mechanics, a few crafting nerfs and general QoL improvement"

Those 2 options would have been a lot better. The harvest nerf would have been seen as a "Worthy Sacrifice" or a "colateral damage" to make sure the balance is kept after nerfing Beast and Delve.

TL,DR: They should have kept everything secret until 3.14 reveal so the Harvest nerf wouldn't have blown-out of proportion. Or Just reveal all the nerfs and QoL at the same time to soften the blow.

What argumentation? I didn't make one. I was just baffled by your level of insight and depth of logic, where for a behavior that you compared with addiction, the better option is a know addiction called gambling =)).
