I am currently enjoying this build quite a lot. I am min maxing it and struggled mostly with getting Dex and Str until I figured out that I can just get Dex on a split personality and it solved all my problems.

This build is like a small community within the game, which is just awesome.

I think I want to Leaguestart with this next league, but I am not sure if there is a good early game currency start.

- How much currency do you need in the first week to transition to this build and do some meaningful farm? Maybe Logbooks.
- What is your preferred early game start if you start this build or another Guardian (or just Templar) build? I just don't like running a second times through the acts without a few weeks time between each run, so I am looking for a starter build to change it into this one.
- What do you think about endless heist or regular heist for the first week?
- How much currency do you need to start simulacrums?

I don't recommend league starting this build, it takes a while for it to really come into and can be pretty painful. There was one youtuber that did a similar Hoag build that did pretty well.

This league I used Phox's RF to league start (pretty cheap to get into yellow maps, then maybe 2ex spent to finish the atlas and do decent farming). Then I switched (lots of regrets needed).

If you want to do 30/30 simu, you should aim for at least 10m dps which isn't a cheap investment. This variant is built specifically for it: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3019705/page/334#p24447710

I'm doing 30/30 simulacrums with only 2-3 deaths per simulacrum ( kosis is annoying, the only one that can kill me ) with my gear not even optimized. The only real problem is Kosis with unaffected by curses, because you don't get life flask charges when attacking him when marked. It takes me roughly 10-15mins to kill him in late waves without spiders ( if you don't get charges you can't resummon them ) so it's kinda boring.
However, i'm not ailment imune, i don't have +1 chaos from tree and most of the time my HoAg is level 29 ( i change gems when i'm left alone with Kosis melee splash -> multistrike, pierce -> awakened void manipulation for lv 30 HoAg ) and i have only 5.3k ES. So it's doable even when not optimized.
Yeah i fucked it up, i bought orbs of regret and copied full block build when i didnt have full block and now i have 35% block and can't go past t12 maps without dying. Might have to just farm currency and start another build. Thanks for guide tho.

It is possible to get this build going on a budget with reasonable map and currency progression. DPS and virulence sustain comes from gems, so no expensive items needed. Good start is 5L Coming Calamity (5L and always 45% mana reservation for HoA) Around 20-30c in first week. If you have problem with virulence (low cast speed) a workaround is using:
Poison - Lighnitng Ball - Cast when Channeling - Storm Burst. One orb per 0,45-0,35s which is faster then zero-investment lightning ball. You don't need Golden Rule (and, because you will be probably without Chaos Inaculation, you should not use it!).

First expensive item to buy is Aegis Aurora (defense!), second is Skin of the Loyal with right colours.

Because people don't play HoA, Aurabots, etc... you can get currency return on upgrades. For example: you buy Skin of the Loyal fo 40c, then - when you get upgraded +1 gemlevel version - you sell it for 30c. The same with each item you upgrade from. You don't get full return, but in the end it is some currency you get back to get another upgrade.

The most expensive item needed for DPS is Arakali's Fang - this needs luck of farming. There is no way around :D. But with Aegis Aurora you can survive harder content, etc...

The most expensive item defensive-wise will be probably Aul's with Grace (on a budget I got Discipline version) and - if this is your aim - Skin of the Lords with Iron Reflexes.

I don't have time to exp two characters during league, especially if the first is just to get currency for the 2nd one. My time used fo development and farming currency for char A can be used to farm currency with Arachnophobia... And: I don't do the story twice.

I browsed through the old day 1 and day 2 builds on POENinja. Some people seem to do fine with off meta gear. But what I do not see is a solid farmin strategy. Mapping is just too slow in the beginning for it to make sense. I see no profit from a finished Atlas when you cannot juice the maps, as you take forever to clear them.

Bossing is also not easy. So there might be Heist, but none of the builds seem to have a trinket or anything else Heist related, like shield charge for extra speed or a decoy totem or whatever. This leaves me with the question how you can make profit even if you nolife the first few days :D.

Essence + Delve + Strongboxes (Scarabs), then batch sell.
Also, depending on league mechanics, additional gains.

You complete maps for atlas passived.
Thanks you. :)

There a ton of ways to make profit off just maps. Strong boxes, essences, harbie, etc are all easy and don't require any investment at all. Farming logbooks is also easy profit (until you can run them yourself, then more to make off it). As you get stronger you can look at other options.

The new atlas system has made farming currency stupidly easy.
