They then announced a delay of their release to within 24 hours of our launch. I understand that if you don't plan to play Cyberpunk, you may feel that it's an overreaction for us to want to move out of its way. I am deeply sorry about the inconvenience and disappointment. But the commercial reality is that if we kept our original release date, we would be fucked. We believe we'd lose at least half our players, almost all of our streamers, a chunk of our developers, and we honestly wouldn't blame them. Launching at the same time as a game of that size is not feasible.

I didn't have any concerns about the delay; however, thank you for the explanation anyway, I like the openness in your approach :)

Don't usually comment on posts but this one certainly deserves one.

I take my hat off to Chris for being so blunt and honest. Releasing a game when devs are on annual leave would simply be insane. Rather this then release a new league with no-one to fix bugs - that would certainly piss the player base a lot more.

POE players are lucky in the sense that not only does Chris and Bex keep everyone up to date but also take the time to also inform the player base of their decisions. Not many do this.

We, POE players, are spoilt and privileged in all the new content we get every quarter [for free]. Some people posting comments here should be less demanding and a bit more understanding.

Been having such a blast this league that i didn't even notice.

From having read the new post, I'm more than happy for the league to be released in January now.
I just wish that the original post earlier in the week had been as forthcoming. I know you shouldn't have to explain everything to the nth degree, but the original post was very lacking. PoE players appear to appreciate honesty backed up by proper explanations, so maybe GGG/you should go with that in future and use the original post as an example of how not to do communications.
