Our Reasoning Behind the 3.13 Launch Delay
I'm very happy with your decision. 2020 was a rough year and everyone needs some time to reset and get things right. People writing negative comments have never run a company or an online game for 10 years. You are doind the right thing.

So, You released heist without a doubt in its absolutely broken and incomplete state, then You delay the next league, just because of some possible competition, what Your loyal PoE players do not even care.
And that is not enough, that the broken heist is still brutally bugged on the sixth week, You have zero intention to polish the next league] in the delayed time, but rather jump right onto the next after league. This means, instead we are fucked for the holidays, we have this hest shitfest for the rest of the year and for the beginning of the next year, what most of us already finished and trying to forget that this negative quality shit ever happened to us. The only remaining people are just abusing their legacy rouge geared duped blueprint runs, the rest already left and was eagerly waiting for the 11th of december for the anything possibly hopefully better new league. So, with this delay, You just made, that PoE is practically untouched and dead till the 15th of january at least, there is no in-between events that can save this situation at this point, then we might able to start a new beta testing league for some weeks, a month on a new league in january, You know, if a new competetitor not comes up again, which new league is practically already ready and closed content wise in december. All in all, no, it absolutely is not smelling like bullshit from far away; yes, not at all. All-time non-streamer luckless dropless rewardless tons-of-time-playing non-TFT-er 100% solo player.
So, it just turns out, we were lied to for years with the promises of a two-storied one PoE 4.0. All these worse and worse beta leagues, all these braindead changes, all lead to this. |

Thanks for your explanation.
Songs are like knights. They need to be covered in metal.

I am fine with this. :D

GGG: I will repeat myself, less leagues per year but better ones !
In PoE language - Make each league rare with 20% quality, not a magical 2% All I want :) Last edited by Swiech#2910 on Oct 30, 2020, 3:44:36 AM

Chris have lead PoE's development so far, and look how far it's come.
If he thinks was the best decision for the game to continue strong and grow well, I have every bit of confidence in that decision. And come on guys, give them a break. GGG is pumping out more free, good quality content that most AAA-Developers demand payment for. Hell, if they have announced that they delayed it, simply because they wanted a break for the holidays, I would have been totally fine with it. The only question I really have, is that if CDPR delays Cyberpunk 2077 even further (which is very possible at this point), will the new legue rturn to launch as initially planned, as in December? |

Judging by the range of replies to this thread it's Fucked if you do it, fucked if you don't. I honestly feel sorry for all you folks at GGG. The pandemic lockdowns have surely been hard enough already without all this other baggage being flung around.

Not that it would matter to anyone, but personally I fully support this decision. It's the right call, and I think it is in all players' best interest this way, even if they don't see it that way. Better they complain about it now than release at the wrong time and have them complain about it then.
Hopefully this will give the devs more time to release a more refined and polished result. Have you considered a beta league in December for the whinos that could help get those bugs out before release in January? Obviously nothing from the beta league would be permanent or transfer to standard. |
