Deep and awesome thoughts on trade market
Asra, you are either a casual gamer or clearly new. This game and all games like this most definitely have "top players". That is undisputed. Your concept of, if you don't like something just forget about it and walk away rivals supreme idiocy. I don't know about you but i'm not just going to leave my wife and friends behind just because i don't like em for a few minutes, or pout like a baby. I'm going to address my concerns like adults should do. Things need to change, period. If you think they don't, your just ignorant and there's no point in arguing.

" Well first of you should take a long breathe before posting insults. Then, again, you guys seems have problems in games and reality distinction. I would be concerned if I was you. What the hell have to do your wife and friends with a videogame? Lol This is a game, it's not mandatory to play it. You have no oblige or rights with this game. You have, instead, with your wife and (morally) with your friends. Trust me, adults don't address problems in a videogame, especially in the way this community does, or better they do, in the bug forum, like I and others do. Your idea of top players is kind of funny. Everyone tries to compete in this game, when clearly there's little to zero to compete. It's a PvM game, you don't kill other players with your skills, you press one button and the whole screen explode. The only way to compete in this game is to race in a SSF HC league. Good luck with that. Especially on consoles. As long as you play softcore, trade league in what are you competing with others? Hoarding? I have 5 mirrors in Standard, where I play, does that makes me win the competition? In what? Lol Lastly, ye I play Standard because you know, adults have other things to do in life other than playing. Harvest was my first and 100% last league. And all the people who, for whatever reason, can't put at least 4 or 5 hours a day in the game, should play standard and not leagues. Instead they play leagues, and complain and cry that they can't make hundreds of ex in a league, that GGG should make the game easier because they can't grind all day long so it's not them that have to adapt to the game, no, it's the game that needs to adapt to them. All these people angry, who spits insults here and there, who shits on the game and then keep playing it, makes me sad. It's like heroin addicteds that hates the heroin but can't make it without it. A mature, sane person play the game because take enjoyment from it. If the game become for whatever reason not enjoyable anymore, that person quit. Everyt other approach is something that I'd be worried about, just saying. But you started your contribution on this post comparing Poe to your job, then you compared Poe to your wife, then compared Poe to your friends. Guess there's no ground for me and you to further discuss :) Ps. You say: things need to change, period. Tell me, my guy, if things won't change, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna make a post everyday shitting (pardon, "addressing problems") on GGG? Bringing GGG to the Supreme Court? Invading New Zealand? What? Don't worry, are just rethoric questions. This thread is hilarious.
You're both wrong in various ways, but the *best* part is the 9-challenge player calling the 27-challenge player a Casual.
" but but but... there is less players on console so the prices go up. STOP IT!! Stop the madness! Of course the prices may be up on certain items but some of these clowns are just absurd, more than double, triple and sometimes quadruple. Price fixers are the cancer of this game. I will never forget playing Delve. I was mid league and needed an Essence Worm ring for one of my builds. So i mosey on over to the Market thinking ok, i should be able to grab one for 20-C or less. Uhhh... 2.5-Ex on every single one available, which was like 17. Let me tell ya something, if there is 17 of any item on the market, it should never be over 1-Ex even for the rare stuff as having 17 on the market says its not as rare as one would think. So i hopped over to POE ninja to check some prices and on PC they were 5C lol.. I literally said screw it, i'll trash the whole build before i ever pay that. Ever since, its been a nightmare on console. Last edited by Mist_Walker_513#9964 on Sep 20, 2020, 8:29:38 AM

" What crap is this? PoE wasn't even on PS4 for Delve league. And if you think 17 of something being available means it shouldn't be one exalt, "mosey on over" to pathofexile.com/trade and see how [insert super rare item here] are available on the PC market, and priced way over 1ex. Just like in the real world, prices are determined by supply and demand. If there are a bunch of something available, and the price is high, then it means demand is also high. Now, don't get me wrong, the PS4 trade market is cancer, but people whining about high prices are not seeing the real issues.
" I see you think you're a smart ass but i also play on Xbox. People can have both Xbox and PS. As far as the rest of your post? Well.. Yeah... 2.5 Ex for an EW ring is absurd, my post is 10000% spot on. Last edited by M1stW4lk3rX#8451 on Sep 21, 2020, 4:59:33 AM

What bothers me more than anything with console trade is the mechanic of it itself. One can spend an hour looking through 200 pages of amulets, even after adding search parameters to narrow it down. But it doesnt narrow anything, it just changes the highlight. Which means we are still forced to sift through 200 pages of useless shit.
Then we finally find the item we need. AWESOME! Oh! It is priced 7 times higher than what anyone will actually pay. What now? Now we wait an hour and sift through 200 pages again hoping to find either a new item listed, or that the seller realized their douchebaggery and lowered the price. We should not have to view every single item on the board after adding in parameters. I love having the board, but items not matching our search should not even be displayed, or at least should be shown AFTER the items matching the search. PC players have 200 times the search options we do. Adding a few sliders and tick boxes to the console board, and removing or sorting items that do not match our search behind those that do should not be that hard. A simple priority listing of items matching the search before those that dont would even suffice if removing unmatched items entirely is not an option. " Supply and demand is obvious. But there's a problem... we still get a bunch of something for sale, very high prices and apparently none of them being sold. The major problem looks the mechanic of the market. Auto sell and refined search would reduce this problems. Economy on consoles is almost bad as majority of south america countries market, lol... In my opinion, the main problem are the fake offers and price fixing.
The trade board needs to have offers autocomplete. It was great needing an exalt for crafting and going through every one listed and offering the amount they wanted. No response - switching offers to another - no response. Then going up in amount - no response. Then figuring out to check to see if they're the same player. Lo and behold, nearly the entire board was hoarded by one person with multiple prices. The entire market is great when it works - but it's a toxic disaster when it's abused by a handful of people. |

Said this many times. The main problem with the market is the market itself. But far as people go it is not the people over pricing items that are the problem. It is the people wanting something for free like that sword the OP mentions. It is the price fixers. It is the scammers offering you 2 chaos for t16 maps. In short is the LAZY that ruin the market for others. Go out and farm and put up those items if you so mad about the prices.
Plenty of reason to be mad about the market but the people complaining out of greed annoy me. |
