Nah, I had laptop and I had like 15 fps max, this is new laptop, bought this one in 2020 ;/

Hmm shit dude, try out this thing called undervolting - it helped me a LOT. I'm on a 5-year old laptop too.

These two things did actually:

Thank you for this, just doing the stuff to the nvidia sound driver decreased my random lag spikes during the intense vd spams completely! i have some slight fps issues but thats it. I was literally about to give up on this character cause of VD >_<
I have a question about the levels of the gems from POB. I am using the 10EX version, and when I look at the levels, a lot of them have not been maxed out. For example:

Cast while Channeling 17
Fortify 17
Flammability 17
Frost Shield 10
Ball Lightning 4
CWDT 8
Immortal Call 10
Brand Recall 6
Leap Slam 3
Faster Attacks 16
Awakened Spell Cascade 1
Inspiration 19
Arcanist Brand 1
Spell Cascade 3

Also some have up to certain quality like Cyclone with 20/10, Volatile Dead 20/16, Brand recall 6/6.

Are these numbers we should try to keep for the 10EX version or can we keep leveling them up? I'm assuming some that are level 1 or 3 are meant to keep it low, but what about the ones that are like level 17? Do these levels have to do with trying to keep the mana spent below a certain level so we don't run out of mana?

thanks so much!

I'm on the 65/60ex version and it'd help if you look at that one's PoB to see the levels, I THINK the only gems you need to keep at a certain level is

CWDT (8) - Frost Shield (10) - Ball Lightning (4) - Immortal Call (10) | Obviously with this set up, you can choose to have a lower level or higher level CWDT if you think you can tank more / if you think you can't tank that much before dying, just make sure you level the linked gems accordingly

Spell Cascade (1) - Desecrate (20) - Arcanist Brand (1) | Only keep the Desecrate leveled up 20/20 as you don't need to level up the spell cascade and brand in this setup.

Brand Recall (20) - Leap Slam (1) - Arcane Surge (6) | Leap Slam is just for getting over ledges and cliffs, and Arcane Surge is dependent on how much mana you have / use, so it can be leveled accordingly

But idk, I'm kind of just doing what I think is nice
How do you go about keeping the brands rolling throughout the entire map if you're running through? I see in the minotaur vid and delirium vid it doesn't seem like the brand is needing to be refreshed and it's just about spamming brand recall while running from pack to pack. Does brand recall plus the brands actually attaching/detaching keep them rolling throughout the map as long as you're going at a certain speed?

brand recall does not refresh the brands duration

have to recast the brands after the 10 seconds on ground / 6 seconds attached to enemies

a brand constantly attached to enemies will only last a little over 6 seconds

So the general flow is: cast both arcanists brand near enemy, then spam brand recall to trigger the brand's effects, and use cyclone to keep buffs up right?

I've just started with this build too so also have the same sort of questions, so then also correct me if I'm wrong;

That flow seems correct except no need to spam brand-recall, it doesn't have a trigger to it? I only use it when I'm at the next pack and my brands are still up etc.

I think in the minotaur video he has some insane cast speed so he's casting both brands barely stopping (I'm at .44s now and so casting both is like a second, it does feel clunky and sometimes even gets me killed casting and then waiting for them to activate)

So I imagine the best flow is having nice cast speed and using your brand-recall optimally which comes with practice.

Awesome thank you very much! I think this makes sense... Lots of things to learn for me still...

I think the cast speed thing is a big part. My kulemak's has no cast speed on it so I'm going to try picking up one w/ it today even if the other rolls aren't the best and experiment w/ it. Also, my brand recall is lvl 1 so I'm gonna try picking up a lvl 5 or 6 w/ 20% quality to boost the range.

I have set up everything almost exactly to the 10EX version, but I think I spent about 15EX on the items so I can get a little better version.

For the life of me, I can't seem to get it to work properly. I can never seem to create the balls and I just do hardly any damage. The fire balls appears here and there but most of the time it doesn't spawn.

I fire off the two brands, then wait for something to happen as I use Cyclone to run around and nothing happens... I try to wait several seconds and then recall and nothing happens again.

I think there was mention about 2 of the same brands being attached to the same mob? So I try to click them apart and still nothing happens... ugh, this is getting frustrating because I spent so many hours switching over to this build and buying all the items and I just can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong... there must be something really simple that I am not doing that is keeping me from playing this properly.

Can someone take a look at my POB and see if I did everything correctly? Also it could be that I'm not doing the Arcane Brand sequencing properly? The button clicks and location of the brands to make it work?

https://pastebin.com/zmp140Kr

thanks!

Ok so after playing several more hours I got the hang of it I think. I found out I was spamming the brands too fast. I need to wait for the first brand to finish its casting animation, but I just spammed the second one right after the first one, so sometimes the second one never came out.

I guess its just all about timing them. I'm also getting used to timing the recalls so I can keep it going. It feels like it can be done twice (recall) before having to re-do the brands again.

Brand #1, wait a beat, Brand #2, run around cyclone, keep moving, recall... keep moving, recall... then start over again from Brand #1 etc...

Is that correct?
