Agreed.

Although I don't need Vaal Discipline any more. My set up restores all health and ES at the same time. The less buttons I have to push the better because I am a very poor player skill wise. Having only one panic button is perfect for me. And this setup is better than Vaal Discipline because it is instant recovery, not recharge recovery.

Golden oil is a lot cheaper now. I went ahead and get whisper of doom anyway since the dps increase is almost 16 percent for me now.

I am thinking if there are other ways to get deep breath. Being able infernal cry off the map would be real cool

Thanks for the heads up! I just grabbed two cheap goldens and now have:

Soul of Steel
Deep Breaths

Lets see how these work together. I give up some single target DPS, but Deep Breaths (with our Inc AOE support gem) is wonderful for Scourge and clearing in general.
I finally switched over to the end game large cluster with Arcane Heroism. This give us 100% uptime of Arcane Surge now on all bosses.

Oof, been watching the price of awakened elemental focus and it hovers around 2.3X. A few days ago one or two were at 2X and I thought I'd wait but then it went back up. This morning one came on for 2X and I got it. About a 22% increase in POB damage for me.

Last night I made it to 92, getting more and more nervous as I inch toward 92. I had conqueror and maven invite waiting which I didn't want to risk, which is good because the conqueror killed me. I now run discipline instead of petrified blood (using herald ash/arrogance for low life), and I still debate if I should switch back to the standard build to be more tanky, which would involve me getting new gear to fix my resists and stats.

This is the most difficult part for me. Every time I want to upgrade a single piece, it feels like a total domino effect that means multiple pieces have to be changed at the same time.

I try to counter this when leveling to make sure I keep as few resists as possible on the helmet, armor, boots and belt to make the transition to end game easier but it never quite works out like I want it to.

I can tell you though that I ran the low life version last league because the belt was 15ex, and it is quite a bit less tanky that the regular version. I think you will notice and appreciate the difference if you make the change back from low life.
Hey guys, just an update from my journey with this build (closing in on 93) and some details I wanted to get into.

I was really lucky with my rare rings. The first one I bought for pretty cheap (20ish C pretty early in league IIRC) and it felt like I straight imported it from POB :D

I crafted the 2nd one by spamming "caster" crafts in harvest until I got a nice combo with the curse reduction. This one has an open prefix still. Is there a "add life craft" harvest still in the game? I forgot with all the consecutive nerfs happening.

Other than that, I was interested in your krangling and corruption strategies:
I've set out to krangle a bunch of Ceberus' Limbs in hopes of hitting +1 all fire gems, but that one has an abysmal weighting. Limbs are pretty cheap, near perfect rolls are at 5c.

Concerning Skins, loyal or lordish: The lords seems like a pretty straight forward upgrade. If I could afford one with Pain attunement (saw one for 9ex), that would save a bunch of points, but we'd lose our only rare jewel socket.
Someone mentioned Call to Arms removes the extra charges from Infernal Cry? That'd be a pity, I was pining for that one for QOL (casting while max channeling for boss dps).
Iron reflexes is probably also worth it, but I like the 4k evasion we have, too.
The alternative, if the gambling mood strikes me, would be to chug Skins of the Loyal into the poof chamber for +1 Gems and/or +2 AoE Gems / Curse / Max Res. But unless you hit +1 gems + something else thats beneficial, a Lordy skin wins out.

I also wanted to chime in on the anointment debate:
I went with Deep Breaths, too. 100% agree that the 8s cooldown blocked me way too often from getting one more cry off in critical situations.

Going for Soul of Steel for my second probably, once I get a +1 +1 skills amu.
Although Ash, Frost and Storm is also preeetty cool. I'm convinced it's a bit better than Whispers or at least competitive.
Unconditional 30% inc dmg, 10% Freeze for anomalous AA and 10% ignite for better uptime on combustion from Wave of Conviction and lastly some more ailment effect for shocks (although its hard to see a shock with less than 30% without it, already).

Build feels pretty much immortal now, except for 140+ scourge stacks. Really enjoyed the journey with all the somewhat affordable uniques and all the pieces sliding into place. I wasn't feeling the damage until I got my clusters and the Thread of hope, though. And still damage is definitely what I feel is lacking atm but gem levels provide a nice avenue and later still I'll switch to Cowards + Watchers Eye + Pain Attunement.
Looking forward to fine-tuning this baby and going in for a few more levels!
Thanks to everyone involved in the discussion here, theorycrafting in POE is just the best :)

@DerNachbar that first ring you listed is absolutely INSANE! Congrats!!! If and when you decide to change builds, that thing alone is going to help fund you next build :)

Thank you for sharing all the info. That was very enjoyable to read. Keep posting with any updates or changes you make.

I am now married to Deep Breaths and Soul of Steel. I am too addicted to the power of IC, especially in a clearing league like Scourge is.
With my flask choices, I am no longer scared to use VRF. I use a level 20 of that as often as I can. I just instantly heal back to full on ES and Life so there is no down side for me any more.

Aah, good point! I used an overflowing chalice for a long time and went with your flask choice now too (haven't played it yet, but the idea made sense). I'm going to replace Void Sphere with VRF, not really seeing the need for area control anymore If I could trade it for CHUNK!
