[3.8] CI Mjolner CoC Ball Lightning Assassin - up to 6M Shaper DPS, 11k ES, 5k+ ES Recovery/s

Dumb question time:

Has anyone noticed their Mjolnir not firing?

When I switch up to GMP for blights only that need the coverage, there is no doubt that I'm firing one off for every hit per cooldown.

When I switch back to slower projectiles, it seems like there aren't enough.

I use Divine and Celestial MTX so I can sort of uh, monitor it, and it just seems odd.

Is it possible my ball lightnings are invisible or overlapping? Play on Max everything with a 1060 besides shadows which are on high.

Loving the build so far...I thought I was going to have to wait a while longer to play it but then some random mob crapped out an Unnattural Instinct. I thought to myself "no freaking way is that viridian what I need" and POOF!

Don't have en enlighten 4 yet so no spider, but getting there. :)

I also need to replace my amulet for...2...dexterity before I can move to Precision.

Only trouble I've had so far is with guardians with some heavy mods. Chimera is the worst. I cover the smoke clouds in about a second but I think I desync and it doesn't always count as me finding him :|

Do you mean the birds that throw projectiles when they die? They are annoying, but this build can handle them. Use of granite flask is helpful.

I found the most difficult boss to be Chimera because you can't heal during the smoke phase. This doesn't mean this build cannot handle him. In this league I didn't die even once against him and completed 40 Uber Elder challenge.

I don't know, but I guess 7 ex is enough to kill Uber Elder. Don't spend too much money on one item.

I think ball lightning is triggered correctly, but if you are not confident you can test it by using herald of agony and checking the stack you gain by a single hit of cyclone against a stationary target (you have to get 100% chance to poison + added chaos damage). If you get 10-13 stacks, you triggered only one ball lightning. If you trigger 2 ball lightnings, you should be able to get 20 or more stacks.

FYI in case you are wondering why I took Lord of the Dead, its because I get endu charges gained with Lethal Pride. The pride jewel in that slots gives me 10 % more str, crit chance, chance to deal double damage, and take 20 % less crit strike damage.

Looking forward to some feedback on how people are killing UE with ease when my gear is top knotch.

I noticed other CoC builds say you should have Increased cooldown recovery on boots. Is that something that should be somewhere on this build and overlooked? or is that only for Cospri CoC

Hi, this is a good point and you can potentially improve this build by using cooldown boots. However, I want to point out a huge difference between this build and Cospri builds. So, Cospri's Malice has a base attack rate of 1.73-1.82 (depending on the attack speed roll). Because cyclone has 300% attack speed multiplier, you have 5.19-5.46 base attack rate without any AS mods. On the other hand, Mjolner has a base attack rate of 1.15(!), or 3.45 with cyclone. This means that Cospri users need almost no investment to reach 6.0 attack rate (break point without cooldown), while Mjolner users have to invest a lot to reach 6.0 attack rate. Actually, many Cospri builds use Cospri's Malice with a low attack speed roll, because they can easily exceed the AS break point. Thus, if cospli users get a cooldown recovery from their belt or boots, they can simply swap their weapon to high-rolled Cospri's Malice to increase their DPS.
On the other hand, with this build you have to get cooldown recovery speed from you boots and attack speed from somewhere to increase your damage.

In addition, if you don't use Doryani's Delusion, you lose about 5% of your DPS. So you have to get at least 10% increased attack speed to "recover" your DPS.
Rare boots with 160+ ES and 30% movement speed cost at least 100c, or typically 1+ ex. If you want cooldown recovery speed on top of them, they'll be super expensive. I don't think it's worth the investment.

P.S. Last league I tried to craft this kind of boots, but I failed after spending more than 100 ex.

Hi,
Currently using this build for specifical bossing and delving. I have a question, I'm sitting around 7.3k ES and max res. I seem to be getting one-shotted by physical dmg. Are we solely relying on Granite flask to tank for us? Or am I doing something wrong? Note, my gems aren't level 20 yet either. Should be able to view my character.

Really loving the build, did 10 Uber elders in a row deathless and currently at delve depth 500 going down to see how far it can take me.

Also a great build to gear into step by step.

Can anyone explain me a bit more detailed, what the point of Ghost Reaver and Zealot's Oath is?

Besides from Sanctitiy this build doens't have any life regen. Is there just nothing better to skill the one talent point into? Also i don't see any life leech at all in this build? Do you take Ghost Reaver just to boost Soul Thief?
