Before anyone harangues me for the choices I am making in my spec, my ultimate spec "generally"; I am still unsure on whether or not to just gear Armor/ES or take IR at some point. The idea is a lot of Leech and Regen on a Dual Wield Claw High Mobility Shadow.

Also note once I am a few levels higher I will be seeking to swap from the mid range unique, to 3L/4L Elemental Damage Claws, the current high physical damage choice on these weapons was the chaos dmg.

I utilize Whirling Blades, Cyclone, Flicker Strike and Dual Strike Pretty constant. I run my Aura and then swap it out for my totem, which will change to a consuming totem later.

I know Item supports do not benefit auras, it is strictly to level it for later use. I found it at 19%.



Now with that out of the way. I have three major complaints and accompanying suggestions regarding cyclone.


1. The Damage to Mana Ratio does not feel correct and can be solved reducing its mana cost to about 2/3 of its current and by adding 1% dmg effectiveness per Quality to the Gem, Or Alternatively, .5 Per Quality AND .5 per level. That would make a level 20 quality 20 gem have a 55% effectiveness and Mana would be left to the player to choose how far to level it.

2. Desync Desync Desync. This Slill desyncs me more than the worst I can do with a Whirling Blades/Flicker Strike-a-thon indoors with a summoner buddy. If fixed it may be more useful. I need not suggest anything for this, this is a coder issue not a balance issue upon which I could have any valid input.

3. The manner in which weapon damage is applied is rather jolting and feels out of tune with skills such as Whirling Blades which performs similar functions. I would prefer it be made into an AoE that hit X number of times per second etc. I am not asking for a Diablo-esque Tazmanian devil of doom, but some consistency between these two AoE, Movement based skills would be grand.


All in all I see great potential for this and I still use it, albeit outdoor mostly. On one final note, my Whirling Blades does less than half the dammage of Cyclone, but the way the damage is applied, as an AoE. Makes it FAR superior in group clearing, not to mention the cost of mana.

Thats why cyclone toooooo much sux when u compare it with cleave as a dualwielder.

Learn English then write offensive posts, that's my tip to you. If you're unfamiliar with the language, your best bet is to have some manners. You attacked me first, so let's see about that ban.
Can we please go back to giving feedback?

Feedback is always useful as long as you make clear in which context you're using the skill (build/difficulty/support gems/level). The game is not only endgame and it's not only leveling, all aspects are important and anyone can and should give appropriate feedback, which the ongoing 'noob'-debate is not.
Cyclone might be my favorite skill

Damage is OK

but here are the 5 biggest Problems:

1. Desync (can we not just link the skill with the command /oos ?? xD)
2. Minimum Range is too big
3. Small AoE
4. Mana Cost, with less Min. Rang it needs less Mana Cost
5. Like every fast attacking Melee Skill, phys. dam just scale really bad. (Every hit should reduce the Armour by 3-5% for 2-3sec. So the faster you attack the more Armour reduce you create)

why does my dps go down with cyclone?

skill says 16% damage 8% attack speed

my defalt attack is 251 dps @ 1.99aps
cyclone is 107.5 dps @ 2.12 aps

I am leveling a new char atm and am using cyclone as my main aoe skill.

I see a big issue in party play with the way cyclone is cast.

When I use cyclone I usualy go back and forth, like most of the players do too. The problem in party play is that you are not able to interupt a cast cyclone (like it is intended) and the minimum travel distance is too long.

So, when an orb/item drops for you while you already have cast your next cyclone the orb/item e.g. remains on the left while your new cyclone is heading to the right. You can't stop that running cyclone, it runs the full travel distance, the loot timer expires, the orb/item gets picked by another player.

This happened to me many times today. I literally lost half of the loot with my name on it.

Furthermore I think that cyclone does too low dmg compared to other (melee) aoe's, especially because it's the skill with the highest incoming damage. The incoming damage gets even more enhanced by desynchs which happen frequently...

I realy enjoy this skill but you have to work on a fix for the loot issue. I really want to play in public, too.

Suggestion for the loot issue: Make cyclone a channeled spell.

Option 1: Cyclone is only channeled while clicking and holding the (mouse) button and will stop when releasing the button. You can change the direction at any time.

Option 2: Cyclone is only channeled while clicking and holding the (mouse) button and will stop when releasing the button. You can't change the direction while channeling/holding the button. You can change the direction by releasing the button and clicking it again right after changing the direction.

Today I just made my Cyclone to 20% quality,
I also have 16% increase AoE radius on my passive skill.

Yet it feels like Cyclone with 0% quality.
I'm not sure if it's a bug or it's just that the base for the multiplier is too small thus no matter how high you boost the multiplier, the result would still be pretty much the same?

I also de-sync a lot from continuous spinning,
and die as I'm so de-sync-ed that I couldn't move.

the damage is 1/5 of my main damage dealing skill, I'm ok with that.

but getting the gem to 20% quality finding it totally meaningless is really disappointing.
