Cyclone

I'm just picturing the unlucky bloke that uncontrollably cycloned into a room with 2 unique map boss and 1 shot(well 2, cuz 2 bosses).

just wanted to add a positive note compared to my previous post, I was testing it in Cruel Terraces, with my physical sword/shield shadow, without much IAS.

Cyclone isn't that bad when you use it at lower level. I tested it in Normal Act 3, with my level 29 2H duelist, and it was a bit better. I don't really understand why you can't get it sooner.
I had this duelist with free respec hanging around, I figured I should try building him around the skill.

That's my current tree.

The mana cost is too high, that's why I spec into Blood Magic, it's a bit easier with HP regen and life leech. I may remove it later if I have enough mana leech (Warlord's Mark).

Attack speed is still king, that's why it's better to start duelist if you plan to use this skill.

Dual wielding should work aswell, but with high attack speed, I wanted to try 2H.

I linked it with Faster Attack and Blind. Blind is really good with this skill since you hit so many times.
Other skill I use: Frenzy, Leap, Enduring Cry, Warlord's Mark.

I think this is kind of usable cyclone , almost perfect for me :

Press skill button = start whirling. Can move.
Unpress = stop whirling.

* Using any other skill "breaks" cyclone
* Mana drains per each "spin" done by cyclone.

deals 70% of regular damage. For dual wielders damage calculation similliar to dual strike or cleave.

p.s I dont understand reasons of making x2 35% instead of x1 70%.
Armor with its mechanics works better on 35% hits, which means two 35% hits deals less damage than one 70%. Am i right?

situational,you leech more life and hit more time but if you crit or etc your status element will last less longer,basicly making it another skill that require lightning dmg to do long elemental stack.

Why? Faster attacks = lesser damage = lesser life leech.

10% life leech , 1000 damage, 12000 armor , 1 hit.
1000*(1-(12000/(12000+(12*1000))) = 500 paper damage dealt to 12k armor target. 50 life healed.

10% life leech , 500 damage , 12000 armor , 2 hits.
2*500*(1-(12000/(12000+(12*500))) = 334 paper damage. 33 life healed.

Maybe it works well with clean elemental damage, or shadow's high crit chance+ crit damage , but for tanks/physical characters - im still not sure.

How can i get the skill gem ? i'm a shadow and i already do Hillock Quest in Cruel Mode.

It hits fast, for comparatively low damage. It's something different for weapons, finally. Everything else hits for (well) over 50% Damage Effectiveness already, Cyclone is basically *unique* in that it doesn't. I like that.

Too bad it's still just Whirlwind. Been there, done that.
I have tried this skill on two dif chars, my 2h mega speed physical duelist I built with his free respec around this skill and my ele cleave temp who I subbed this ability in for. I have to say that this skill performs a crap ton better on the duelist who was specc'd and geared specifically for attack speed without movement speed. I have 48% att speed from passives, another 12% from rings 6% from gloves, and a fast reaver sword. While I do feel that this skill still needs quite a bit of love compared to say the ele cleave temp it is not in as dire straights as people say it is, especially after you level it up some and get the att speed/phys dmg boosts.

I also noticed playing around in the city of sarn (wanted to try it out vs shitty mobs like the vipers and whirling guys who run away alot) it interupted it self on corners very easily especially around the buildings or on the rooftop paths.

Things I would change tho for sure.

Reduce the mana cost its pretty steep.. Prob will not work well with mini mana pool builds that run several auras and use their small pools to support cleave or maybe freezing pulse.

Increase the dmg scaling up to say 40%, 45-50 would be kickass.. but we cant have those ranged worrying about their superiority can we.

Cyclone is not WW. WW is an iconic OP skill, cyclon is meh at best.
