so what I read here is my main skill storm brand is nerfed

warlords mark cause I cant sustain mana without it is completely changed

ES got nerfed on the tree which im heavily invested in cause I cant survive otherwise and I don't have legacy gear that has a zillion ES

did I miss any other nerfs to myself ? id like to point out that im heavily invested in this build and I DONT clear uber atziri/shaper/mastermind

was storm brand ES a meta build? I didn't see that memo , pretty sure it wasn't , ive paid other classes to rip though certain content for me (hint they weren't storm brand)

ill live cause I plan to make a new character in league but wtf were they thinking???

Do you follow a build guide? Other storm brand builds were doing well in Synthesis. I think they'll still be fine in Legion, even with the nerfs. Paying other classes to do content for you sounds like your build's not up to scratch, hence the build guide question :)

I didn't play on synthesis , I stayed in standard last league so maybe im way off base but all I saw was nerfs across the board and its not like im easily clearing end bosses (the content sure) but I think most classes kill mobs handily

and the build guide questions , ive played since open beta and yes I did follow a build but I still have a good grasp on game mechanics , this is a full on nerf to my build and it was not meta , so waiting to see the nerfs on meta builds? did that happen? probably not

Fun was detected and eliminated.

Seriously, the game wasn't easy to play and required severe investments in both time and resourses to start playing it's endgame content properly. For me, it took more than 2 months to do so.
Now they say they've made it even harder by all fronts. To what end? The league runs for 3 months, so if I can't reach the endgame content, what's the point?

the same point that big names corporations are doing..

playtime, to put players through chores even better if tedious extra points if RNG is on top too..

they are following the philosophy that if the game gets removed of power, players will spend more time online so they can use your and everyone's numbers here in a dev presentation..

did you see that there's something lacking there? something primordial in any video games? the word.. the feeling of having FUN? yeah they don't care too much about it anymore seems.. fun seems to be targeted for a few in the big pictures, players will nod and eat a bunch of illusions convinced it's for their own good and keep rewarding GGG for everything they do..

And so the cycle begins a new..

If the top builds will kill uber elder easily and they're broken as hell, is that good? Nope! Say there's five top builds that are broken as hell, and 10 behind them. Nerf the top five, and now there's 15 builds that are great. Then buff some ascendancies so there's even more top builds.

How is this bad?

If ther are only a few top builds, that's way worse.

I am new to game, been playing for like a month or so. I wanted a caster class and SB fit the style I love to play perfectly... I don't know how it was before but everything I read said it was OK after the nerfs, and although I felt stuck b/c of short amount of time I played to get good gear, I was looking forward to this league, and in fact even purchased the supporter pack.

Reading through the comments, and the concerns from the folks who created great guides for newbies like me for SB builds is really making me feel queasy about yet another round of nerfs to what I like.

I will give it a shot but if elementalist will suck as people expect it to, well you lost a customer. gg...g

Don't sweat it. Both Storm Brand and Elementalist will still be able to handle the game. They just won't be as fast as before, which as a new player shouldn't really worry you. Also, you can play Storm Brand as another ascendancy, or even another class - you're not tied to the Elementalist to play it.

Fortify
The Fortify Support now provides a More Melee Damage stat, instead of an Increased Melee Physical Damage stat, though with a lower damage value. It should now be a much more tempting choice for primary melee attacks, rather than being relegated to secondary and travel skills, though it won't outclass the damage of the most powerful pure damage supports for attacks.

Wtf i just read?? They nerfed it to make it more appealing for main attacks, but its still less dmg then other support gems cuz they nerfed it? LOL

My advice is to look into another class, see if something else works even better for you. Maybe hierophant for a brand+totem playstyle, those work nicely. You could do the bulk damage with your totems and have brands to curse enemies and to buff your totems due to the Sign off Purpose hiero node ... but there are other options too.

You could even do a necromancer! Use the Spiritual Aid node on the tree, so bufffs to minion damage affect you as well, and take the minion nodes to improve your minions. You could do for zombies, spectres, or both, and still cast brands for great damage.

Trust me, if one door seems to close, either try it and see how good it is ... or try something similar, or different. There are bucket loads of playstyles in this game :)
Holy crap did this Manifesto splash a lot of cold water on my hype for the new league. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm still enough of an addict that i'll play it, but god did my level of excitement and anticipation just fall right off a cliff.

How is it a nerf? It depends on the numbers. If it can add up to say 34% more melee damage, I'll take it. If it's 29% more .... hmm, well it's a good option, but I might not take it. If it's only 19% more damage, it will still be much better than it currently is.

maybe, but the point of fortify wasn't the increased dmg anyways, it was the dmg reduction.
"Don't Tread on Me"
Well, this seems more to be a Nerf to melee and a detrement than a boon in many aspects. But I can swallow all that, no change will affect my Inquisitor so badly that I'll need to respec. Except potentially for one, the skill tree is being reworked! WTF, I finally get my build to a good place and now alot of Melee nodes are moving around... Not cool. My question to the Veterans who have played between multiple changes before, is "What happens to the characters with points invested in the old tree?" Do they unallocate those points and give respecs? Or do need to waste recources to make up for the dev's want to change things up? Truly this is something diffiult to accept. I know MMO type games change often, but I've heard about alot of Tree changes in the past. Too much change breeds inconsistency and is not the kind of game I care to play. Perhaps I'm overthinking it. :/
