There is no difference in a large jewel having 8 or 9 sockets
Not true.
You spend 7 points for an 8-pointer and 8 points for a 9-pointer.

8 point 1 socket:

9 point 1 socket:

8 point 2 sockets:

9 point 2 sockets:

As for "TWO" jewel sockets , imo that would be already 2much. Running just 1 large , 1 medium and 1 small is more than enough to clear all content in the game . (not talking about t16 100% delirium , i havent tried that yet.)
What kind of argument is that, you can clear all content without any cluster jewel at all like people did in 3.9. If you can't afford 2-socket one you don't "need" it, but there's a slew of medium and small jewels with great utility and less pathing than going around the standard tree. You can use the flexibility of them to get more damage, more defenses, more life, more ES, even things you normally wouldn't have like elusive, endurance charges or immunity to poison.

Or like Tarke Cat get one with Mender's Wellspring and that's Ryslatha's pantheon and staunching affix on flask in 1 point, so you can get freeze on a life flask instead and save an affix.

If you don't need more damage you can use utility / defensive jewels in medium / small clusters. You can also socket a small one immediately into a jewel slot in a large one, you don't have to go large -> medium -> small.

Yes I wouldn't buy a 3ex jewel early on when a character still needs other upgrades, it's a luxury, but I don't think it's "bad" or "worthless", for example you can get a small cluster that will give you 18-20% life increase for basically 1 pathing point (the jewel) meanwhile it's hard to find valuable life clusters on the tree past some point without too much travel.

For example at some point I'm planning to add this jewel to my setup, it's 14% life and some extra damage, but you could get instead Sublime Sensation which is 8% life 10% ES. This isn't even a good rolled jewel, it was budget option.

So far this is the progress I've made. Lots of budget options used; any advice on where I should go from here?

I'd upgrade that belt first, then amulet.

Here's my updated gear, the playstyle is MUCH better. Thanks again for the help!

This is my weapon im wondering with the best min max gem set up
hey, guys. Need your help.
I've got an amulet with aspect of the spider. And there goes my dilema:
I'm running with Malevolence + Discipline + Flesh and stone. Without Flesh and stone my estimate chance to evade/dodge - 87%. With Flesh and Stone - 93.5% in melee radius. MAYBE it is overkill.
Now i can switch Flesh and Stone to Aspect of The spider. it gives me more damage, but maybe it's overkill too.

So what your advise: Flesh and Stone or Aspect of the spider to running with?
Here's my POB if you want check something out or give some advices

Lvl 3 empower is 15c atm... just buy it. Lvl your current one in weapon swap and then pray for corruption.

Also it's kinda up to you, but some people hate the duration reduction from swift affliction and then I'd use void manipulation instead, but if you don't mind the downside I think it's fine either way.

Gave a try at chaos-spam crafting an ilvl 84+ Hunter quiver, and after my first attempt crafted a decent one to sell within 20c, I got this in about 5c on my second quiver:

It had an extra suffix initially (30%+ Crit Chance I think, good...but kinda useless on DOT builds), but I successfully annul'd that off in one try. So now the obvious next step (at least to me) is to craft "Suffixes Cannot Be Changed", then scour off the prefixes. That will leave me with just the 2 great DOT mods. Then I can either multi-mod and craft three prefixes (life, chaos dmg), OR craft a cheap temp suffix and try YOLO exalting prefixes and then craft a more powerful IAS suffix (risky and potentially more expensive, but potentially greater reward).

However, both those options seem a bit...unsavoury, since quiver prefixes aren't really strong, so it feels like I'm spending a lot for very little in return. What would be the recommendation of someone with more crafting experience than me? Suffixes lock + Multi-mod is 4ex but seems to be the least worst option I guess. Perhaps I could even just craft IAS on it as is and save the exalts. Seems bad to lose the life though, and I can afford the exalts. This quiver does seem worth the investment.
Actually after some upgrade i can clear all content (some trouble with sirus with this patch have ton of hp last phase) without any problem, what can upgrade for min/max now?

Thanks!

Hunter gloves with chaos multiplier, awakened gems, bow with +2 to supports instead of +2 to bow gems (starts mattering once you get awakened supports), you can look into any cluster jewels to get more out of your passives.
