Drop Arcane Surge for something else. It doesn't do anything for TR pods.

Buy The Vertex mask - it has higher ES than your current helm in raw numbers, and after the Escape Artist ascendancy, it's absolutely best in slot - and cheap.

Your bow isn't awesome, but it's not awful, either. It's nicer than mine, and I'm clearing T16s. (Admittedly, new bow is top of my list of upgrades now.)

Next things I'd be looking for in your shoes - jewels, stygian vise with life & resists, gloves and quiver with Chaos damage over time / damage over time multiplier. Then a new bow. Then Empower / Enlighten 4. Maybe a watcher's eye and Dying Sun.

No. That price is the crafters making several exalt profit. You can build one yourself for significantly less.

bought this for 9 ex, can get lucky. (live search and buy fast if you get notification) just divined it a bit higher with 3 divines.

if you search without attack speed even cheaper (res stat instead or whatever could be at least a little useful, but go for 1.5 Attack speed base), also with +2 bow gems instead support gems can be cheap.

So I ran out of patience and settled on that bow. I'm thinking of slamming it with Warlord ex, not sure how worth it it is tho.

And I'm stuck on the amulet, not sure what to double craft. Life or ES? Or should I just aim/look for a +1 Chaos gems one instead?

Warlord or Redeemer Ex. None of the affixes are that spectacular, but if you're out of stuff to spend your currency on... /me shrugs.

Nothing wrong with that ammy, either. Dex gems is just as useful as Chaos gems. Life or ES, there's no wrong choices there.

Neither. Follow the guide. Ignore what TypicalDemon is currently playing unless you already know the guide inside and out.

I'd recommend reading the guide as it will explain a lot of the choices made, and ways to modify the gear if certain price restrictions are required. There's also some items that will be very difficult to get, but have very reasonable substitutes.

Hmm... so, according to PoEDB, "Non-Channelling Skills have # to Total Mana Cost" is a mana modifier.

And a Fertile Catalyst is supposed to "Adds quality that enhances Life and Mana modifiers on a ring, amulet or belt."

So... anyone tried to get their mana modifiers up to -10 with these yet?

How important is rolling attack speed on the bow vs dot multi? I have a 6link magic thicket bow with t1 dot multi and I've tried regaling attack speed a dozen or so times and got nothing. Is it a huge loss to just roll with a random suffix instead of attack speed?

Not a huge loss. I've pretty regularly crafted a bow that's really close to the max, then used it for a few weeks while I slowly craft the perfect one. You can do all content without the crazy 10+ exalt version. I've done damn near everything with mine, and mine is a far cry from the endgame version! Did Sirus for the first time, took him down to a tiny sliver of life at Awakened level 5.
