Balance Changes in Path of Exile: Betrayal

Me likey. Pepega
Kinda disapointed that none of the ice skills were mentioned in this even though you made specific announcements earlier. Other than that the duel weild change is good.

I look forward to smashing Diablo Immortals face in with the new update :)

GGG would not fuck up stat sticks for melee and then leave it wide open for casters, they are not that stupid.

you are the new one here?

they did weird things in the past and i fully expect NO changes related to stat sticks + spells :) exactly zero.

and a routine blade vorted buff (skill that does FIVE times more damage than other spells AND can abuse covnersion + penetration..)
I'd wait for the actual patch notes and see what uniques have been changed and maybe made very usable for dual wield builds/melee/blade flurry in particular. They might also have changed skills like blade vortex and glacial cascade to keep in line with the stat stick nerf.

Personally, I think just looking at some shields is gonna solve some concerns people are having towards the more stat stick dependant builds, Lyco being an obvious choice for some builds, as well as having some options that grant attack speed, physical damage and other utility options.

I'm personally not gonna panic before I can see the full scale of everything. Also, it sounds like cospris and mjölner are gonna be huge next league, as well as champion changes, depending on how they are gonna turn out, are gonna enable some pure phys(with brutality/war banner/dread banner) builds quite strongly, removing most of the utility a stat stick would've given those builds in the first place.

I'm fully prepared to eat my words, but still very hopeful towards melee or at least phys builds getting some love after all. Planning a pure phys blade flurry build as my starter and endgame boss farmer, so there's that.
Ritual of Awakening no longer grants +1 to maximum number of Summoned Totems. Instead it now causes skills that would Summon a Totem to summon two Totems instead, and grants 3% more Damage per Totem.

sorry but that 2 totem summon is uneeded in my eyes... the totem summon speed is so fast anyway that it wont make any difference if you summon 1 or 2 totems...

and it is quite the nerf losing 1/x of damage since there are not that many "end game" hierophants?
Good changes!
The stat-stick changes are terrible.

This completely renders skills like Double Strike useless now.

Dual Wielding now requires you to have two insane unachievable pdps weapons...

It also makes zero sense imo

Lets say you use Dual Strike and a Shield, you get full benefit from your mainhand weapon.
Now you use Dual Strike with an offhand weapon and suddenly your damage gets worse unless your offhand weapon is just as good as your mainhand in which case it stays the same without the benefit of Shield perks.

Also nothing said about Blade Vortex, GC mines statsticks?!

Nothing said about Molten Strike, Zerphi, Poet Pen, Immunity builds?!

Guess it is back to

Righteous Fire,
Blade Vortex,
Toxic Rain,
Poet Pen,
Elemental Hit,
CoC

Maybe Cyclone can make a comeback in some form.

I've rarely used a stat stick and my melee builds have all been able to handle endgame content just fine.

Seconded. On a good budget a 2h setup can wreck bosses.
Ive read every single comment so far. And as I see it, it feels in my bones about the stat-stick (Never ever used one, but was planing a build around it for this league.) I did however have a feeling something would change with them, so Im not too suprised) however, we'll recive the patch notes tomorrow, until then, there is really no point being as upset as some people are.

Let us nerf 90% melee physical builds with dual wielding and let the unkillable flask dudes, the dual wielding miners with gs, blade vortex dudes with the same dual stat sticks, that have been on top of all the statistics during the last two leagues, live and prosper. I mean it's ok, that new mechanics are introduced and encouraged to play, but why would this feature be ruined for attack-builds, whereas the same thing for bv-, gs-bulds with insane scaling remains untouched? I guess, in my own opinion, it would have made more sense if these sticks could apply only to attacks or somewhat melee things or just nerf those stat sticks from, well, 40% to 20%.

I, of course, undestand that it's impossible to predict all the outcomes of the nerfs and maybe in the upcoming changes and new skills everything is going to be compensated and melee dudes are going to be rewarded.

Thanks for regular updates and new content. Keep it up! HYYYYYYPE!
