I think now hitting gem level ~lv30ish will be mandatory. According to poedb minion scaling stops at monster lv.84 or something like that. Before the nerf it was easy to reach. Maybe +2 corrupted chest, +3 elder helm more mandatory in end game now? I posted earlier about taking alternate ascendancy nodes. Drop Mistress of Sacrifice and for life pool ~150%ish spectres like SD, take Bone Barrier. For ~300%ish spectres (like FAS which I am about to play), take Plague Bringer for damage. I really want to know what you think on this. Even if it's me lacking some understanding of the ascendancy, please correct me. Plus it's not your post's problem, this game has too many necro haters. I watche the post grew from 800 likes, I say it got more dislikes than you think. Most people saw the world spectre and click thumbs down without even thinking. The nerf from lv.76 to lv.72 is 20.83% less max life, while Bone Barrier gives 20% more max life ;) Also, the granted lv.20 Bone Armour skill saves you a whole gem slot. I see your current setup is using steelskin, but Bone Armour is simply a better steelskin (both takes 70% dmg, total 2209 dmg, 3s cd, but bone armour applies to you and all of your minions). With Steelskin gone, I think a new setup can be: Trigger Wand: Desecrate - Offering - Tempest Shield (take away spell cascade) Shield: CWDT - Immortal Call - Withering Step (or inc duration) What do you think? For minion survivability, until we get decent gear, I think we can use Skullhead and bone offering, with Victario's Charity + Necromantic Aegis. This would provide for our minions: > Minion block chance: 59%-69%+ --> 24% (shield) + 10% (helmet) + 25-35%+ (bone offering) > Frenzy charges (shield) > 2% life regen per second (helmet) > Life on Block (bone offering) > some resistances from shield If we take Decay Ward cluster (3 passives), we get our minions to 75%/55% block chance with bone offering, plus 20% minion life and extra 2% life on block. This should cover all minion survivability needs. We lose Flesh Offering, unless we use "Leash of Oblation", but I think we can live with it. Save a lot of travel passives. And drop Enduring Bond. Necro Aegis is not good. Necro will become super squishy instead. What are the options to replace spell echo for SO? Empower? Minion damage seems giving more damage but the overall lvl increase gives life/damage/accuracy which seems better? Thoughts? It is ridiculous but I think that SO are really the least nerfed in this patch. That once again shows the true skills of GGG game design team... Empower wont be that good, unless you need it for the extra spectre. For me, playing spectres is an.. aesthetic choice. Spectres are cool! I literally began playing PoE specifically to play with spectres, and I'm going to continue playing with them regardless of the occasional nerf. ... Other things are cool, too, I guess, and I may fiddle with other class/skill types eventually, but there are plenty of ARPGs that let me hit things with an axe or throw around a bit of fire. Necromancers on the level of PoE's are essentially nonexistent, and this is the only game that scratches that itch. It's what I'm here for.
