Bestiary as a Core Game Mechanic
" There is so much truth in this. GGG should invest more into "quality of experience" and should do more design verification/justification. Features don't sell. Benefit sells! Best of all, it is scientifically measureable: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_of_experience Let's explore new playstyles - Play it your own way, not just like the others.

Great news as far as I'm concerned!
I am very surprised however when reading that manifesto because I find it extremely strange to list very good and valid points as reasons behind this decision while still omitting the crux of the problem; the fact that: 1. This lacked a good few months of development and several more of QA to reach a stage where it is remotely serviceable. One could point to the many, many flaws in UI, balancing, execution, design, etc, but it stands out the most to me as the most unnecessary tedium a league has added(granted i only played essence, harbinger, abyss and bestiary). 2. It was (in my opinion) a very poor decision in the first place to take this game the direction of "pokemen hunting" as it is intrinsically not in line at all with the rest of this game's identity. I realize a lot of effort and work went into this and i appreciate the development of original (though iterative) ideas, but I just saw this league as a very questionable experience with lots of busy, empty work to hunt, manage, trade beats. I felt it strayed very far from my pleasurable experience of POE ; killing monsters, earning loot, fighting through well put together bosses, etc. Tl:dr, sorry not sorry. Very sorry to all the devs for putting so much effort in something that is stashed. and very pleased that in the end, you had the good sense not to make it go core. Mistakes are the best learning experiences, and i'm sure you will keep doing better thanks to this ,)
Glad to hear it will end.
Bestiary is one of the worst leagues for a core mech. It was good for a day or two, but then it became boooooriiing... Thank you for your choice
Bestiary was my first league playing in. Is it common to end leagues so quickly. I didn't feel really comfortable jumping right into another league shortly after building several characters. But then again it's nice to keep it fresh, could be the diablo player lingering in me that wants long leagues. Oh well.. keep up the great work, maybe this time around i'll find a HH ;)

No no and no bestiary for core game ,i dont wana see bestiary....
Delete bestiary. If bestiary is in the game again, I can stop playing this game. So much are not fun. Destroy the game by adding a trash league :) gl GUILD ZA BALKANSKE IGRAČE : https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1227661

I'm kinda disappointed. I like bestiary as a game mechanic though I didn't feel like the league is a 'challenge league.' It felt more like when the Forsaken Masters or Prophecy came. A good lil' addition to the game that you can choose to mostly skip if you want to but it has the potential to yield nice rewards if you want to engage with it.
I get it that Bestiary has to be kind of a chore to maintain but I think it's worth it just because of it's chore like interaction. It's not the most efficient thing in the world, the red beasts are random and very often you will be spending hours and hours without actually gaining much more than just the drops you get while trying to hunt the monsters. But SSF BTW! I can't stress enough how much more approachable SSF is with Bestiary in the game. And I think it's just the Quality of Life feature SSF needs to be a desirable experience for not only those who want a bit more challenge to the regular PoE experience after thousands of hours in-game but for those newer to the game as well who don't necessarily want to feel like they miss out on stuff if they don't want to play with other players and trade. Because of Bestiary I was starting to consider starting to play mostly SSF in 3.3 'cause the barrier of entry has been lowered to a reasonable level to a guy like me who can't play hours on end every day but now it seems I'm gonna remain a trader. --------------------------------------

Well... I didn't play much during Bestiary. I liked some aspects of it.
I liked being able to craft key pieces of leveling gear, and I especially liked being able to craft specific flasks I wanted. But ... I didn't like the process of capturing beasts. I found the mechanics annoying. Targeting the beasts I wanted, fiddling with which nets I wanted, trying to weaken beasts without killing them ... all of that was tedious and fussy. I also didn't like the rising costs of the nets. I could tell that I was going to be struggling more and more to try to catch ever stronger creatures with ever more obsolete nets. I could tell that because of this, my failure rate was always going to be increasing. The system was designed to become resource poor at high levels. Now, as a primarily SSF player, I was a prime candidate for actually using the crafting system, but I didn't feel that the cost balancing of the nets accurately reflected my ability to generate the necessary currency. So, I guess I'm not sorry to see the whole mechanic removed. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'
