[3.x - Discontinued for now] Burning Spectres - Torch the Atlas - HC Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri

How worth it is Necromantis aegis with a shield that has gain a charge when you block and recover %life when you block? Wouldnt this make your zombies and spectres have all pretty much all charges + practically inmortal? Is it a good skillpoint investment? There are a life and a mana node nearby too.

Also, would it be worth to take % block chance in the marauder starting area or is it not necessary? Thanks!
I'm a noob, this is my first season, but I'm having a blast with this build (running 3 TV, 1 WM)! I hit the beginners luck jackpot and found 2 exalted orbs while leveling, so I have a budget to upgrade my gear. I've never done Uber lab or high tier maps; my primary concern is defense so I have some room to make mistakes while I learn the content. I'd rather go slow than dead. :)

A few questions (I think my profile is public so you can see my gear?)

Do I want to use both Stone of Lazhwar and Rathpith? If the stat sheet is correct when I remove Lazhwar the difference in spell block drops without bone offering up but it gets back up to 70% with bone offering on, even without Lazhwar equipped. If I don't need them both should I be shopping for a new shield or a new amulet?

What's the best way to transition to 20% gems? I read about the recipe to reset a level 20 gem to level 1 with 20% quality, do you just level a few gems on your secondary weapon slots, or is there a better way to go about it? Or is that even something to worry about at this stage?

If I can only afford one big purchase what item makes the biggest difference? 6L armor is out of my price range. Scourge would eat most of my budget and I'd lose all the defense from Advancing Fortress. Maybe one of those fancy rare helmets that has skill support with minion damage and life? I know I need to get better jewels, too, but it's a little overwhelming trying to find the right ones.

Thanks!

Hey Jonathan I am pretty new too, but noticed one thing in your skill tree, shouldnt you change the zombie gem to another position so the 40 intelligence thing gets activated? Like put the zombie gem where the spectre gem is and vice versa?

Hi guys,
I love this build though kinda slowish clearspeed.

I've done things radically different than u lot:

Not using the Vis, so only 3 Spectres.
AG with melee splash seems to mass curse everything with the Dyadus effects.
I ONLY run Bone Offering - not Flesh.
Currently at 54% Chaos res (will be maxed once I get spell block shield and can ditch the Stone of Laz).
Auras is Vitality and ofc (low lvl) Clarity.

The lack of deeps, not running Flesh Offering, I get from my curse, which is Flammabiliy.

Clearspeed now much better and build is both safer and hits harder than most Vis Mortis versions :-)

Thoughts?

I'm running the following setup on Abyss softcore char : Axelond_necro for full profile

Clear speed :

4 Solar guards with Unending hunger and minion cast speed on every jewel gives insane cast speed, Guardian's just melt

Devoto with 21% attack speed on flesh offering gives shield charge 144% attack speed and 74% movement speed no flask, 144% with flask

Defensive:

Dual curse from skill tree Projectile weakness + Flammability (dps) or Enfeeble (defensive)

Lvl 20 cast when damage taken + Bone offering for 77% block and 77% spell block chance. 46% block to spell block from shield and 27% from amulet, along with 2% max block from amulet.

42% of damage taken as mana (30% MoM, 9% Elder jewel, 3% tree)

6.2k life, 3.1k mana, 1.1k ES.

I would drop both rathpith and lazwhar and purchase a rare shield that gives %block applied to spells (aim for 45-50%). I bought one a few days back for like 10-15c. This opens up ur amulet slot to get life / resist / some shaper or elder mod. Alternatively you can dump ur 2 ex into the shield and get a %spell block, life, blocks restore x% to life (these shields r VERY expensive). Make sure to read the shield stat requirements! I accidentally bought a dex shield i couldnt use cause i didnt read carefully x)

I would also drop one of your life flasks for a rumi's concoction to hit block cap with bone offering. They only cost 1 or 2c. If youre comfortable, drop the mana and another health flask for a quicksilver and another utility of ur choice.

With whatever u have left over u could look into a 6L elder or shaper mod helmet or abyss jewels that give life, minion cast and atk speed, minion movespeed, and / or after using a minion skill gain x% increased dmg. Any arrangement of those mods r good and shouldnt cost too much

In terms of gem leveling gems, level another set of raise spectre and desecrate at least so when u do the quality gem recipe you wont have to run maps with under leveled spectres.

Also, id recolor ur vis mortis to 4b 1r or 4b 1g in ur 5L and drop minion life for whatever color u hit. If you followed the guide, ur spectres shoild never die.

Only you. All minions are entirely different entity, so nothing applies to them, unless it is specifically told, like "add damage to minions/increase minion damage".

But you can "hit" even with spell, so when you using spell to proc EE and curses anyway - that 70% will be activated.
Finally got my Scourge Terror Claw!!! it is really great :)
