[3.x - Discontinued for now] Burning Spectres - Torch the Atlas - HC Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri

What are good jewels to stack for when you use Solar Guards? I've just been using what I got my hands on for the most part.

Also still looking for little advice on what to improve first gear wise. Haven't been able to go past t10 maps because map drop rate sucks for me. But up to 10 I clear in minutes.

I'm also wondering if I should swap in spell echo for anything or wait until I get my 6l

isn't burning a elemental ailment?
elemental focus prevent supported skills to inflict elemental ailments, i want to know why use these gems together.

Ignite is an ailment. Burning isn't.

Block to spellblock conversion unique for either shield or amulet, if you get the amulet a better rare shield might be good. Skullhead could be replaced with a rare helmet with either +2 to minions for Animated Guardian or a shaper/elder rare with burning and minion damage support.

Seems like the Elder helm (not Shaper helm) is extremely good choice for this build.

Simple maths show that even a helm with mid tier roll of lv16 burning damage support + 20% incr burning damage and lv16 minion damage support + 15% incr minion damage should be comparable or even better than lv20 burning damage support (no quality) and lv20 minion damage support (no quality). Max roll Elder Helm will definitely trump over lv21/20 gem combo!

Considering the price of a lv20/20 gem and the (current) price of the Elder helm (not to mention you can always chaos spam yourself), it is much better choice for mid or even high end budget. Even with max budget, it may be still better to put another 6L in your vis mortis chest for more dps/utility.

Fixed a bug where having a Spell socketed in The Poet's Pen would prevent other triggered skills from triggering.

Honestly, SG has been solid for me mapping so far. Hope I can get lv83 wicker man soon (gem lv still too low) to see if I can return to good old burning mapping

What links are used for solar guards, I just saw that spell echo may work for them again. I'm currently still using wickers and TV's.

Did 3 phoenix runs after the spell echo fix to test SG. Yeah, the damage is insane to clear mobs, I can't deny. But the boss fight was purely trash. 2 of 3 I died running like a headless chicken because SG can't aim correctly and boss just don't stick to them.

could swap the chest for a cloak of flame to give a nice boost to survivability. i usually have that until i swap over to pure spectre usage just before a10 kitava (nice if you have a 5l ready, should only cost a few chaos after first day of league)
