[3.1][HC] Scorching RF Inquisitor - cheap starter build - ZiggyD
I'm sort of a noob after having been away for a few years, so pardon my question if the answer's obvious. Why aren't any of of the ignite passives used in the build? Seems like they would be beneficial. Cancelled out somehow? Not enough bang for the buck? Just wondering.

" Scorching Ray and Righteous Fire do not 'hit,' which also means they cannot crit or proc ignite. |

I have had a blast playing this character for the entire league, I am currently sitting at 92, and there is one thing I'd like to add that made MY life in mapping way, way easier. I found out that kiting due to regen not cutting it was very tedious, so I simply added The Formless Inferno in, in combination with 4 link CWDT setup (Molten Shell, Increased Duration, Immortal Call, CWDT) and I can say that in combination with Rumi's, Enduring Cry and +1 Endurance Charge node, I am basically immortal in anything below T15 even with huge mob mods, simply because I added all of that in. Haven´t managed to Vaal my PoF unfortunately yet, but I´d imagine that'd help you survive even better. This wasn't very obvious in the guide but survivability is somewhat lacking due to not having any CWDT setup. With my somewhat trashy gear I was almost able to down Minotaur with few deaths, but maybe if I had this setup out before I did, perhaps I could´ve. I think this is what the build needs to survive the onslaught of physical damage, though if someone has an idea what to do otherwise to make life easier, ideas are always welcome.
Just my two cents. |

Just ran T14 no regen with RF up -- took some potion juggling.. but it was doable deathless.
I like the build so far.. after a few more levels, will take on the Guardians. My Gear: Mana regen seems low at times.. however after doing some no regen maps, I have learned to manage it without, and with it just makes things easier. Mana regen on items helped put me over the top, and grabbing some nodes below Deep Wisdom also help. For physical damage problems, I can't stress cwdt-Ic enough.. and to keep Fortify up at all times. Total Life - 5790 Total Mana - 2755 (1525 Unreserved) Net Life Regen - 167.6 Net Mana Regen - 165.1 |

I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong, but I can´t run this build without the Purity of Fire aura. I can´t sustain RF without it, while I have no issues with PoF. Definitely that % to Max Fire Res is essential for me. As I said I really know if I missed something. Actually I have 6.6k hp and 2.8 mana (1.2 after reservation for auras), which means I don´t take benefit of having Mind over Matter at all.
Basically: 1. If I disable PoF I have problems to sustain RF due to my life regen being lower (1050 life regen per second) than the damage. 2. If I enable PoF, then I have problems with my mana regen (210 mana regen per second) and MoM passisve is useless since my mana pool is almost everytime empty and I can´t often cast our dear Decoy Totem/Scorching Ray. Here is my current gear: Having this problem, of course I prefer to enable PoF and just disabling it for harder bosses, using only SR... Doing so I had no problems to run maps over t12, also did Phoenix easily disabling RF and melting him with SR. No problems running this build apart from the above points. Currently I plan to get higher % of Mana Regeneration through Weapon, Rings and Amulet and need to get another boots for that 2% sweet life regen from lab. I am also wondering if I should go for Whispers of Doom to have an additional curse past lvl 90. I know I lose some dps but having dual curse to run maps alone is very very tempting... Is Occulist viable for RF SR ? i think it could be stronger right?

your arcane surge gem is WAY to high, you need to cast more than 10 orb of storms to even proc it once!
get it to level 6 (procs on 26 manacast - orb costs 27) so it procs with every cast of it, that alone should help alot with your manareg |

" I added the helmet yesterday when adding small changes And I'd use a basalt flask above a quicksilver as shieldcharge is already pretty fast, especially with a fast weapon like doryani's. high lvl cwdt setup + EC and extra charge would be an optional setup yeah. Perhaps I should make it more obvious about the cwdt setup + optional enduring cry yeah. I'll update skill gem setup a bit Thanks for your input ! " While the tree would be more or less the same. I don't see how an occultist would be better. They give us one extra curse that's it " Try to have both mana and high mana regen on your rings. Replace the amulet for high life + mana regen. I can't see your tree but 210 mana/sec should be really close to sustain the degen so replacing the rings will be enough. Also arcane surge NEEDS to be lvl 4-7, buy a new one. Also use a seething mana flask ign: ropefly Last edited by ropefly#2757 on Aug 18, 2017, 9:24:20 AM

Hey guys, thanks for your replies. Here is my current tree.
I assume then that going dual curse on this build is a no no (that additional curse would replace Arcane Surge at Curse on Hit setup). Cheers. |

" If I would find a decent +1 to curse amulet I'd go 2 curses for sure but keep arcane surge and use a witchfire brew ! ign: ropefly
