[3.6] Milky's Scorching Ray Totems (updating process)

Hey milky,

Would it increase damage if we took the minion nodes that give increases to minion damage apply to us and then use a scepter with minion damage? Not sure how that works with totems. Thanks.

yes it does work like this.

If minion dmg can affect you it will also affect your totems.

Since i switched entirely to SR totems and thus spelldmg is also favourable its not that great to go for the minion dmg route. There are better dps nodes and miniondmg% rolls on weapons are similar to spelldmg rolls.

Its only really worth it with a bone helmet, minion dmg on gloves etc and it grants the ability to use minion dmg jewels (more flexibility).

So you can do it, its not bad to do it, but also not really worth it with so many good dps nodes in the area on the skilltree for this build

I am definitely doing your build as a starter for 3.6 :)

What do you think about the new Bane Skill?
Is it usefull to focus on more curses for more damage? (Ele Weak + Flammability + Despair)

So far i am just a little bit worried about Elemental Equilibrium. That SR debuff change might be a hint to some EE change. We'll see, so far it doesn't look like anything is changing.

I'm not a Bane fan, especially in this build.

Usually curse on hit can be combined with something to trigger EE and EO as well, bane cannot do that. Has room for an extra curse in the setup but requires another one (and more hotkeys).

Pathnodes are here and nothing changed negatively. Thumbs up!

more dmg, the debuff change doesnt matter for totems and the skilltree is basically the same with a handful of different options.

The best thing is the higher dmg on low levels which will be noticable

stormbrand or oos would require a stormfire ring which isn´t really good in this specc since kikazarus are used.


flamegolem is the easiest to use and not as clunky as most other things. something like firetrap + combustion can work as well, but its not guaranteed to ignite (esp singletarget) and needs a 2nd throw of a lightning trap to overwrite EE again

yeah you are right!


What you think about the burse 66% curse reduvtion on bosses?
Is it worth to focus on 2-3 offensive curses?
