[3.10] Bashtart's SPARK INQUISITOR * farming like a god! :)

Short Question... can i use only vaal spark and vaal blade vortex or i have to use a normal version and a vaal version? (For the Gem Choice)

Just wanted to post to say thanks Bashtart for the build.

Followed the main leveling portion, skill build, and item build for the most part. Once the build got rolling things got rolling quick (once I got Inpulsa's). Got to 35 challenges with mostly the grindy ones left. Bosses are pretty easy. The build is insanely tanky once you have mana leech.

Before mana leech I found the deadliest things to be anything that dealt damage over time. With MoM DoTs just leave you in a real dangerous spot.

Found Blade Vortex to be too awkward to use so I ended up using LT + Glacial for a while. Once I got a bunch of jewels and jewelry with lightning damage I ended up switching to LT + Arc which ended up doing significantly more damage with the added bonus of clearing adds around the bosses out.

Hi Japan, you can use either normal or Vaal versions of Spark and BV.
The Vaal skill gems now provide both the normal skill and the soul-powered Vaal version of the skill from the one gem as of POE version 3.3. So it's like you get 2 separate abilities from the one gem.

If you go with the Vaal skill gems make sure you get one with good quality on it as you can't add quality to a Vaal skill gem later on like you can on a normal skill gem.

I am running with both Vaal Spark and Vaal BV. The Vaal BV is pretty awesome so I would say definitely get Vaal BV. I'm not so impressed with Vaal Spark but then haven't used it that much either. If you can't afford a high quality Vaal Spark then just the normal Spark gem is fine.
Also the Vaal version of the Spark skill can't be supported by Spell Echo. It still works with Spell Echo in the link setup you just don't get the benefits from it when you cast the Vaal version of the skill. The normal version of Spark provided by the Vaal Spark gem still gets supported by Spell Echo so that's fine.

3 spark projectiles is definitly the better option for helmet entchantment.

I got really inspired by this post and bought the skill gems and recolored my Inpulsa to get it to work - but I was not very happy with the result. Damage compared to BV (and the boost of Vaal BV for bosses) felt lackluster - and the added benefit of Arc while channeling is basically lost if you alternate spamming Spark while you go about your BV business.

Other cons I see are trying to do Atziri with your LT and Arcs flying everywhere - not to mention Vorici missions... One more con is not being able to move while you are channeling and you want to do that for as long as you can to ramp up the damage.


So, I rolled my stuff back to BV again. One big bonus of this test was switching the shield from Chernbog's to a spirit shield with crit and spell damage. It upped my tooltip DPS for Spark by a lot. It also lessens the Str requirement of the build.

All in all I feel that the clearing speed of LT+Arc while channeling is good enough for clearing that it rivals Spark - so it feels a bit pointless to run both. Having only tried it for a short while I might be missing something - but this is my personal opinion at least.

Hi, I just checked and it's not in private.

Your IGN name in your post was missing an "h". =)

Anyways, I quickly looked at your character and I see the following:
- No life on boots
- No life on belt
- No life on helmet
- No life on gloves
- Pretty low life rolls on both rings and the spirit shield
- You can use Blessed Orbs to re-roll the implicit crit value on your Diamond rings to 30%. I would strongly consider getting better rings with higher life first though...
- You could get spell crit chance on the spirit shield.

I'm not sure how well you are faring through maps at this point, but based on the above I think you will struggle keeping alive vs. T15+ bosses and Shaper.
