As for bonuses, with 4+1+1 setup you get:
- immunity to shock
- immunity to ignite
- immunity to freeze and chill

Not so bad... but wait, there is more! :)

For each Primordial Harmony you get 20% increased golem damage per golem type summoned.
Assuming you have 10 harmonies (which extreme, btw):
- with only flame golems you get - 20%*10=200% increased golem damage
- with 4+1+1 setup you get - 20%*3*10=600% increased golem damage

With Pob, I'm getting slightly more total DPS with 6 Flame Golems compared to 4+1+1.

4+1+1 is better when you want the elemental immunity and maybe use "Death's Door" boots for bleed immunity as well. However I tested Ice and Lightning Golem in 1 link with friend in PVP and they were totally useless, so they should not be included in DPS calculations.

6x Flame Golems is better when you want maximal clear speed (more attacking Golems) and total DPS. You will be missing freeze, chill, shock and possibly bleed immunity, but will have much better clear-speed.

I only tested Ice and Lightning Golems damage in PVP as some players want to include them in total DPS calculations. I have to say that both Golems alone had miserable damage and should not be included in DPS calculations as "active" Golems.

Tested both 6x and 4+1+1 on Guardians, high tier maps and Hall of GM. Overall 6x did more damage, but I liked also the immunities and use of "Death Doors" with 4+1+1. Both are very good but have differences.

Mika,how abou using 2x Dyadus weapons with animate guardian?? it will give 200% inc burning dmg,which maybe good with ur spectres? Yeah,no shield so, but so much free dmg for bosses...or 21 lvl AG will die too fast vs bosses like Red elder,guardians and etc without block chance from shield and regen?

I have not tested the Aspect of Avian myself, but the bonus seems pretty random. 10% chance to deal double damage would be ok, if it was not rotating every 4 seconds.

Aspect of Spider seems much stronger with the chest piece if willing to sacrifice +2 level from Golems.

I have tried 2x Dyadus, but Animate Guardian seems to die easier that way at least in 1 link. It also blocks less, so its not spamming healing ground to keep Specs alive. However if AG is linked with minion life and maybe some other defensive gems, it should be safe to use.

Damage boost is very powerful, but chill ends pretty fast if not using Ice Tomb. Using Ice Tomb however drops AGs chaos res and regen, so that makes surviving even harder.

I have never tried a spell-based class on POE...but I have the new Saqawal's set and was wondering if that would be viable at all for this...if not could someone direct me to another minion-based build that the set might be good/great for?
Hey I got a question. Would you recommend replacing clayshaper, for a brightbeak? I'm only saying this cause I want to go fast and I'm just a speed whore. I do have shield charge and faster attack 20%. But I feel too slow. Just need your suggestion about it. I do know minions lose hp and we lose 1 golem but I just need to know if it'll be good or not.

Hello :)

This build uses high Energy Shield items to boost EHP (HP+ES) as its hybrid trying to reach 9k+ EHP. Saqawal's set has evasion based items, which are not best choice for gear. The Aspect of Avian seems pretty unreliably as 10% chance is very small and it even rotates with other effect every 4 seconds. Aspect of Spider looks much promising for the build as the set is ES based and effect is more useful.

Maybe SRS or Zombie builds work better with Saqawals?

Hey :)

Brightbeak is useful if you want maximal clear speed. You lose one Golems, but 3x are enough for lower level clearing. You can also change Specters to Solar Guards, as they clear much faster than TV Specs. Try to craft 1-2 onslaught flasks with extra movement speed and duration. Those boost shield charge to super speed as onslaught boosts both movement speed and attack speed ;)

Why empower and level golems high, and not use minion life support? Confused as to why the large currency sink for such a small benefit.

What else do golems get that I'm missing from a high skill gem level?

Wiki don't show it, but the base damage of the golems spells/attacks also scale with gem levels. I don't know where Path of Building gets it's data from, but according to it's minion.lua file the Magma Ball spell that Flame Golems use goes from 862-1293 base damage at lvl20 to 1713-2570 base damage at lvl28 for instance.
