GhazzyTV - Essence Drain & Contagion (or Bane/Soulrend) Trickster [SC/HC/Uber Elder/Shaper]

Been playing this build for a good while now, and I really enjoy it, but I am looking to upgrade out of my Tabula, and I can't tell if a +1 Tabula is better than Cherrubim with its 80% chaos damage?

+1 is going to be better, though Cherru gives you life, you could also go for getting a Lioneye's vision which opens up another socket slot for you.
Problem with both Cherru & Lioneyes is linking & coloring :) but both provides better defence.

Iam trying out your Build and have to say it's great!
Iam killing really fast.
The only thing is, my Whirling Blades arent as fast as yours, not even close.
I see you use a 1.2 dagger. I got one myself and also linked WB to FA.

Am i missing something?

Awesome to hear bro!
Have you gotten your ascendancy points done? They will provide you with even faster whirling, you can also add Vaal Haste which does nothing for your dmg output but does increase your speed :)

Yeah i just did merc lab, but i have chosen Patient Reaper instead of Swift Killer.
Iam using your Video as a reference and, even without vaal haste or frenzy, your WB seems to be much faster than mine is.

I made a little Video so you could see. In this Video you can see my Ascendency, APS on WB and some whirling with and without Vaal Haste.



As you can see it seems .. slower, the Animation just ends so slow. Its hard to describe thats why i made the Video.
Do you remember how much APS you have on your WB?


EDIT: I did some research and found following Updates:

2.2.0 : Whirling Blades is now 10% slower.
2.3.0 : Increased the attack time of Whirling Blades by 18%. Its previous default attack time was 2.2 seconds. It is now 2.6 seconds.

You uploaded your Video end of March 2016, which is roughly one month after the 2.2.0 Update, but before 2.3.0


So yeah it might be that, 2.3.0 "nerf" of APS. :(

Yeah I just realised that when streaming today, it has been reduced in speed and still rocks hard. You could try using Shield Charge instead for better results!

I'm trying this build in the beta and so far it's definitely fun. I think I'm going to switch out slower proj and pierce for the new decay and efficacy supports and see how that goes.

I have one question though: Why the Tabula Rasa? The color combination isn't hard to get imo (in 3.0 it could possibly be 3B3G which is very easy and cheap to get) and the price of some decent 6 links with that color combination also isn't that high. Or is it just because of the budget? Thanks :)

Mainly budget, though the +1 socket of gems is still cheap on a Tabula and is amazingly good till you get a "proper" 6L :)

With the changes on Beta and 3.0, ED does not scale from proj damage any more. So Slower Proj and Pierce are no good.

Best 6L will probably be ED - Decay - Void Manip - Efficacy - Controlled Dest - Rapid Decay. Or maybe an Empower somewhere in the mix.
