[3.5] Say_Ten's Melee Shadow - Murder Everything Cheaply

"
I see you don't have jewel sockets taken. You especially need the one by the Ranger start point to put in Might and Influence. Do that immediately. You can temporarily refund the single dex node by the other jewel socket under the duelist. Also, you could refund two 5% life nodes to take that jewel socket in addition and find a jewel with life and 2-3 damage mods. You should really have a jewel like that in both other jewel sockets, though your current jewel is ok for now.

You should also put better crafted mods on your gear. higher ligtning res on your left ring, higher fire res on your gloves, and add movement speed to your boots.

You need better flasks too. Follow my guide. Pick up a Basalt, a granite (or rumi's if you have the currency) and then you can run two instant recovery divine life flasks for now. You can pop all three of your utility flasks while you're in the middle of packs, murdering shit.

Nice BoR, btw.

Thank you very much for your response. I've reworked my tree and crafted mods, and working on flasks now. Appareantly I can't add any Mods onmy boots...

Best Bob.

Are you looking for those specifically? Wasp Nest is cheap and good...

If you absolutely have to use any of those, I would go with Innsbury Edge.

Hey I've got another question, is it worth to improve the quality of the dual strike gem?

yeah, don't go nuts. you should still be mowing shit down with whatever weapon you want to use. just found a lakishu's blade i can even give you.

but yeah, go wasp nest at 60 and you can use that until and/or in the endgame.

absolutely. 20% quality gives you 10% increased attack speed. not sure how new of a player you are, but for the record:

you should not spend 20 gemcutters prisms on it. as a rule of thumb, i wouldn't spend gemcutters to increase the quality of a gem i'm using unless it's already 15% quality give or take.

you should level it to level 20, then vendor it with a GCP to get back the same gem that's level 1 and 20% quality. you'll have to get it to level 20 again, but it pays off...and it levels to ~15 or 16 pretty fucking fast.

the only gem i don't care about quality on is hatred, since it just boosts the aura range for friendlies
Hey Say_ten! Thanks for this awesome guide!
Looking so cool with the superb atkspd of dual strike with this build!
Love it!

I'm already nearing late game or end game
Lv80+ atm...

Been following the skill tree all the way up to the 80 and 100points in your guide.

But I see that there's another [Sample high level skill tree], which is quite different from the
progression of 20..40..80..100 points skill tree so far.
Which one should be follow to be more awesome?

On the [Sample high level skill tree] you go for more Claws passive and life and removed Vitality Void.
I guess this is the exchange for taking the Claw Passive like "Claws of the Magpie", "Soul Raker" node?
And also removed the Dual Wield related passive on the like "Ambidexterity".

Back with my question, I'm abit lost on which skill tree to follow.
What's your suggestion to follow?
What level should I start respecting into the [Sample high level skill tree]?

I like the 2nd high level tree (one I am currently using...check my character sheet). You could drop more offense for more life if you wanted to. Yeah the leech would help but isn't as powerful as getting everything else, including Soul Raker, so by the time you are officially using claws, you don't really need the leech nodes anymore. Ambidexterity is pretty good but I decided I would rather spend the points elsewhere, especially since they made the other claw nodes good recently.

If you're already 80+, I would just adhere to the high-level tree now.
