[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Life is your problem. At level 80 you should have closer to 4.5k life.

I can't see your characters because you have them hidden, but based on previous experience with this issue from other users, my guess is that

a) you opted to go hard into dps nodes before going for survivability. Fixed by taking out dps, getting life.
b) You don't have high enough life rolls on your gear. Anything that isn't unique should be rolled minimum +70 life (belt, amulet, helmet, gloves; if you're going with a rare quiver, that too). I often see people post gear here with no life, or +30 life.

Also one of the most common issues I run into on this thread is that people don't run Seething life flasks (66% reduced recovery, but instant healing). Because this build doesn't leech and regen is taken largely to offset Blood Rage's degen, regular life flasks heal REALLY slowly. Hence, Seething flasks. They're a requirement, at least two of them.

Thanks for the hint with the life flasks. I will craft another one or two with instant healing. Currently my skilltree looks quite like yours without the jewels and two lifes nodes. Had no luck yet with jewels :) Gloves and boots still have around 25 life. All together i know what i have to do now :)

Srsly, wtf? Today i found 2!!! Ex, one Axe i sold for 1 Ex and a Tabula Rasa. Last time i needed around 500-600 hours for that :X

Now that lightpoacher and darkness enthroaned are so broken do you suggest that we use those for the build? Also should we just be using abyssal jewels in our tree instead of normal jewels?
i like the elder quiver that gives frenzy charge on kill lets me run phase running instead of blood rage which is nice for going faster
RE: Abyss Jewels:

There's some defensive / utility QoL stuff you could get like +MS if you haven't been hit recently / if you've killed recently, some of the dodge stuff, etc., but nothing that would be definitively better than regular jewels as far as dps goes. The DoT w/2h'ers roll is 12-15 (which beats most regular jewel rolls we can get), but it's really the only effective, consistent damage roll that benefits CA, and even in the DE belt it would cap at 21% damage, where you can get that with two dps affixes on regular jewels no problem.

For straight up damage, regular jewels are better.

So, no, can't really recommend abyss jewels for this build.

That said, the DE belt would be a good min-max option if you're good on your res balances / figure you can get the resistances balanced off abyss jewels, cuz then you could throw an extra QoL thing or two on the belt. For the tree, though, regular jewels 100%.

As for Lightpoacher, this is an MF build, not a dps build, and missing 40% IIR on the helm will make a noticeable impact. So, no.

Yep, if you can get a well rolled one, that's excellent.

I'm waiting to confirm that Elder/Shaper stuff will go core (probably will, but I've seen crazier shit) before I add it to the guide.

@frky: Gratz, dude =D

Hmm. I'm sitting on about 3600 at level 79 and I'm missing health from my quiver (80 on helm, 68 on gloves, 54 on belt, 69 on neck) but unless I replace every jewel (5 of 6) to have % maximum life, how do you get 4500? I think I have every life talent that you have in the build.
Yeah I get life on every jewel. Life + dmg + (1 res or another dmg, depending if I need resistances). That's 20-30% life you're missing.

Add on the low roll on your belt and none on quiver, there's most of your missing life.

Spec out of frenzy nodes into the life nodes in scion for some additional survivability if you feel you need it, until you can get the gear sorted.

Thanks for your advice with the Life Flasks. That was exactly what i needed! Since i have 4 Seething I only died twice and both times because of lag. Yesterday my third Ex dropped. Is this normal with MF Builds or am I just super super lucky?

Fruthermore this build is soooo easy and chilled to play. With former builds i always had to think about what I am doing. For example which mods were on a rare map etc. With this one? Nothing! Just sit back and play :D

In all honesty, yeah, you're getting pretty lucky with exalt drops. They WILL be more common with MF, but not 3-in-3-days common. You can expect that RNG to taper off.

MF builds are about generating a more consistent amount of currency. So instead of 3 pure chaos an hour, you'll get 4 or 5, that sorta thing. More items to sell, more items *worth* selling, etc.

Glad the flasks are helping out and that you're having fun =)
