I was thinking of trying to build something around Cospri's and completely ignore the whole spellcasting bit. Ele hit viable kappa. Cospri's plus Heretics for multiple curses should work out well. Obviously you'll want a dex-based build given the high dex requirement on Cospri's (unless you're going to 6-link a weapon). The ability to curse hex proof mobs and the plus one curse also synergizes well with Corspri's - running quality enfeeble/temp chains/vulnerability is really nice. Using the Envy Essence is still a good idea, you just need to also hit a life mod, or an open Prefix to craft life. And just to directly answer the question, yes the %Chaos damage from the Essence works just like the %Chaos damage from jewels. Hm Ziggy did it this way. he showed a item craft with prefixes cannot be changed and the essence did not change the life roll?! I will try it and write then Had a chance to try this Ichbin? After reading the development manifesto and watching Ziggy's youtube on essence crafting what I think happened is that Ziggy tried metacrafting with essences during beta but that it was subsequently removed on final release.
