You can spend all of your currency on items and still not have mirrored or legacy gear (not that you need that gear to begin with). No it doesn't.

It kinda does actually. People in HLD standard especially, have been saving and dumping their currency in to their pvp characters over the last 2 years.

A year ago, HLD was overrun by RMT'ers and long standing players/wealthy traders with 500+ exalt builds. I can't imagine it being any better now, especially after seeing LLD build budgets increasing by 10 fold in that time.

This game isnt supposed to be casual friendly. If people want a fun PvP experience without any effort farming/gearing a character then they should play a game like Smite or Starcraft.

10ex may not be enough for a competitive HLD build but 50ex is. If people cant get 50ex in standard to start an HLD character then they are pretty casual in my book.

You dont have to play standard either... people can play in the challenge leagues and sell their gear at the end of it. Save your currency for a few leagues and youll be able to buy some decent gear plus youll have plenty of alt characters to test builds with. Same for people that race. Sell your alt art race rewards (some alt arts are worth more than a single HLD character)everyone can get the currency if they try.

For the gems maybe...

you dont need 24 20% gems to do well in pvp. Just the main ones are enough, the rest you can get for a few chaos at 10-15%

U need to stop crying on pvp forum about legasy items, price on equipment, and lvl of HLD chars. After Sarn run i can see pms like :"U fucking mirror nolifer",after arena :"Oh u ar 100 lvl , if i got +15 lvls i kill u easyly". Tell u: play more , trade more, practice more and ask if u wanna be on top in this game. Like most of HLD STD players i got 1 main char and invest ALL in his itemisation, POE is main game on my comp. I dont jump from game to game. If u cant do top HLD STD pvp, dont play it, go do some 1h race, or exp 10500 HC char to 80lvl,or do some MF dominus runs, but plz dont cry here about ur poor char.
P.S. As for old pvpers, we dont need to persuade this people to play HLD, they mast be willing to do this. Sry for my english.

To be honest it's pretty easy to say that now that you are at the top. Someone willing to start pvp now will have a massive mountain to climb to reach the level of HLD veterans. There is no middle ground in PoE pvp, either you dominate or you'll get obliterated (depending of the matchup of course).

HLD is elitist ? Fine but don't complain that a few people are interested into then. You can't expect people to compete against you having the superiority of years of building your char.



And for a legit season 3 with reward in standard, you can't be serious expecting GGG to do something like that with all the past dupes and hacks on a game gear dependent. No sane PR manager would ever allow this because everyone would laught their ass of on the internet about it.

since the first day i started this game, my goal was to pvp.
so instead of doing all those pve things that jedi_blr already described, i focused on gearing 1 single char for pvp. since the first day, i repeat.
i even didnt get a 1k kaoms when it wasnt legacy, i got one when it already was and i payied it fucking 160 exalts, that i got in YEARS of playing FOCUSING ON BUILDING A PVP CHAR, while other ppl had fun doing something else i fucked bored the shit out of me doing whole day dom runs, and the most expensive unique i dropped were few 5 ex worth. then i spent TONS of regrets to find the perfect passive tree, experimenting new things and judging which one is better.
so now ppl wanna join pvp, being lazy and have a char that press 1 button and win? i dont care, they should have thought before about it. id rather play always with the same 10 ppl that actually LIKE PVP and WANT TO PLAY IT that reading the QQ of ppl that dont even understand how the game works (e.g. ppl opening threads saying ea is op cause they die in 1 hit because they dont even know the existance of EE and dont overcap res).
there is ppl that has 10 stash tabs full of exalts but is too lazy to make a build and try try try until it works, and they just quit cause "omg i got full mirrored gear and i die omg pvp suck".
