HLD Season 3 standard

0 mirrored gear

I don't think it matters what league season 3 is held in, only that some events will have just 30 participants and it will remain a joke.

Maybe you don't need mirrored gear to do well but you are acting as if it'll be cheap to make char that can win. A more accurate test is how much would it take to replicate your chars? 100ex? 200ex? More? I think having to spend currency to make a good chat is fine btw. I'm more curious than anything.

I know you can make a cheap char and do ok. The argument is you don't need legacy gear and mirrors in standard HLD. The top pvpers are saying look I don't use any mirrors in my gear. But that doesn't mean their chars aren't worth hundreds of exalts. I made an arc char with a 5l agnerod for the pvp season and it did fine. Mostly because it was all blitz events though. Like I said I was more curious than anything

i actually disagree with this. Anyone wearing a tabula will get crushed by any of the good pvpers - I know you exaggerated to make a point, but still the fact is that its pretty expensive to compete at a high level.

Sure you can make a decent pvp char with 10 exalts, but you're going to lose 90% of your matches. People aren't going to admit it, but the majority of top pvpers have spent a lot of exalts on their chars. I couldn't tell you if it was 150 or 400ex, but it's a lot.

It also doesn't help that the HLD PvP community is pretty small and concentrated, which discourages new PvP players from getting into it.

And there's diffrerent opinions on good. How much would it take to make a char that can top 20 a Swiss with the say top 100 sc/hc HLDers. The reason I say that is eventually people get tired of getting pooped on in pvp. It's not really fun losing 2/3rds to 3/4ths of your matches. Then once people reach whatever point tier they think they can get, they quit. So instead of the noobs beating up on each other, you face mostly good competition at the end. It's has happened in both seasons so far. And to let you know I grinded to 800 points this season for the rewards.

No, i am not exaggratting, i know tommie used that exact setup some time ago and the character was strong.

And no, youre not going to lose 90%, youre going to lose 10%, because thats pretty much how many people have hundreds of exalts to spend on gear.

For blitz arc is decent but for 1v1 you want to use spark or lightning ball

To get top 20, in SC/HC if the normal pvp people are playing, well youre gonna need a pretty damn good build and some good gear too, but generally something like 50-100ex should be enough to get that if you are good.

I can just about hit position 20 with my hc char if I que for a while on the hc/sc ladder. And thats me using my pve build without doing any changes to it. No gem swaps, no trap clearing mechanics, just a few aura swaps depending on opponent.

If I swapped my vaal gem for something defensive I might be able to defeat a few more people but I'm using a gimmicky cancer arrow build (pa) that is easy to counter by anyone decent enough or anyone that has enough movement speed/chasing power. Main reason is probably the fact that lvl 21 gems and lvl 4 empowers are impossible to get on hc and because I ripped with my last lvl 3 so it will be a while before I get a new one :P. But capped chaos and a vitality or CI would still shut me down probably.

Fortunately the HLD que is more alive than then lld one and I can get a decent amount of fights, even if I lost the majority. Im only kind of sad that half the people I can win against just quit after losing 1 round to me. RIP leo rep points

I did indeed, didn't even have my gems in the agnerod due to it not being 6l, so used a tabula over kaoms heart and I still had great defense(8k+ hp, 700+life/s and dodge) and pretty good offense, but sure it's not like top tier crit caster but it can do a really high ammount of damage. Heck, use searing touch for +2 fireball and start shotgun, that's really strong too.
