1.3.0 Patch Notes

Cast on Critical Strike's cooldown has been increased from 0.01 seconds to 0.05 seconds.

Can we please get clarification on exactly how this will impact CoC based builds?

Option 1: All supported spells can now cast in succession over .05 interval per 3 spells. With 3 supported spells CoC could at most proc 60 spells per second.

Option 2: Supported spells will now be cast in succession at .05 second delays. With 3 supported spells, you would cast them over a .15 second interval dropping proc rate to 20 per 1 second.

Can you please tell us which one is correct?
Meanwhile at GGG offices.

I was hoping for some more actual content to be added beyond a Pvp system that's heavily slanted to people who have pvp'd for years already. I get that it's the Pvp patch but it's hard to be hyped for a new league when PVP isn't in the context of the new league. Why do I play bloodlines whether were only item/skill nerfs and all the PVP is in HC and SC where anyone who didn't Pvp before (or rather corrupt and craft hundreds of items) probably doesn't stand much of a chance. As someone who was hyped to start pvping, I've completely abandoned the idea of even trying, and as someone who loves making new builds I can understand nerfs, but I think giving tools to other defensive or offensive options to what are perceived as tier 2 and 3 builds would expand the meta rather than nerfs which will only expand the meta until the masses gravitate towards a new set of tier 1 builds.

I've been playing games with evolving metas (video and card) and a large degree of build complexity for at least 20 years and making all the top choices less powerful often only seems to make the meta feel weak and uninteresting, whereas nerfing abusive choices and giving new tools to weaker ones make metas feel more interesting and full of depth. I'd like to see more build variety but I think it can be done in a way that feels more like progress without falling victim to power creep by making the change more surgical rather than sweeping. For example, in this case almost all of the popular defensive options in hardcore leagues (coil, cloak, block, AA) saw a universal nerf whereas armour mechanically could really have used some work to make it a more popular option both on its own and as a hybrid choice.

I guess if really just wanted to get excited about something and I just feel like everything's weaker and bland.

Cyclone no longer targets enemies, only locations. Does it mean that it can be linked with Multistrike?

(sorry if such question already was, too much posts in here :/ )
am I the only one who thinks this is one of the best balance patches ever?

Like I said way earlier, I'm super motivated to play now. This game was a challenge in open beta. Since then, it basically became Path of Critanything and this game went from difficult to a glorified picnic.

Now it's going to be challenging again. I'm damn excited.

No, theres 2 guys here with me, I dunno what everyone else is smoking.

I was legit annoyed with GGG today, my bandit respec bill has reached full retard levels. But these are the best patch notes ever, how can I even be mad now? Virtually every change is exactly what any sane person should have been expecting.

Cyclone = targets locations not mobs... I told you guys lol, over a year ago I told you guys move skills targeting locations might be a thing. Lets see how this works now, cyclone build incoming, for sure. Honestly Im surprised cyclone for this? Surely out of whirling B, leapslam, warp and cyclone, cyclone is the one use primarily for attacking and the others primarily for movement? I would have made the change to the other 3 before cyclone but true enough, cyclone is a real problem. If this reduces desync might we see it used on other movement skills?

atziri gloves, should have nerfed to 40%, theyre still better than vaal pact at 40% because you can still regen life with them on and thats op as fk. but so glad a change of some sort has been made because those were cheesy gloves, just so cheesy and wrong.

All the nerfs, theyre virtually all such good, wholesome nerfs. That hybrid mod had to go, the whole master crafting thing was just too op, way too op. On paper it looks fine but weapons are really touchy, they needed help getting you to that 200pdps range, the hybrid mod just opens doors to a whole other level of silly.

This game was getting way too easy. Something needed to happen, all those nerfs are to things that were too strong compared to the alternatives, either you nerf them or you buff things like armour then buff all the damage mobs do and we end up in the same place. Something had to be done, its happening, thank goodness.

So how many 20% es suffix diamond rings with a free prefix slot is AXN crafting right now exactly?

There's nothing to indicate mechanic changed, just the time between procs. The wiki still has correct information regarding the mechanic but the time between each spell COC's procs has been lengthened. The cooldown is on COC activating each spell linked not every spell linked. On the wiki under the skill functions section just replace 10 milliseconds with 50 and the information should be correct http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Cast_On_Critical_Strike

WoW!
Path of Nerf is real!
I didn't see any of Buffs actually LOL!
Strange path... so strange...
Aaron Ciccheli, a guy who made millions running Diablo and PoE RMT sites, owns a significant portion of GGG. How's that for a conflict of interest? 7.5% of your supporter pack money goes to this guy.

Atziri's Acuity: The modifier that makes leech apply instantly on critical strikes now has it apply instantly at 60% effectiveness. Existing versions of this item are affected by this change.

Now will the QQ stop?

No, because they got legacied.
Hail Thor-show thy might, Let thunder roar and lightning strike! Hurl thy hammer into the fray, And let thine enemies know fear this day!
GGG should fire the guy who was in charge for balancing fo this patch. I don't want to play FB-prolif templar for new leagues but i don't have ay other choices because literally everything else was nerfed to the ground.
Would really have liked to see the changes to SRS damage at least at level 20. Finally was able to run level 70~ maps and will be sad if my summoner can no longer do that with all the defensive nerfs and the damage nerf on top of it.

Also, seems like the new leagues builds will primarily be Tornado Shot, Flameblast and Arc since they were the best skills and remained untouched!
