[3.10] Sovyn's Lazy Pally - Tanky Templar with Max Block
I played around with the new skill calculator and started with Marauder, any critics?
Passive Tree I plan to use Infernal Blow, that's why I'm taking Lava Lash ... also the Increased Effect of Buffs is important to me ... but not necessary if not playing in groups with lots of auras regularly. If you don't need those it frees up a lot of points (for e.g. Life) This build has more elemental res (max res!), armour and a little more block. Last edited by daish0 on Mar 5, 2014, 5:14:17 AM

Hi Sovyn and fellow Lazies
As a non-selffound player I did some testing with the build in high end maps 74+ and I encountered some problems. With the start of the new leagues I'm trying to smooth out these problems. With the new Skilldrasil we have some options we didn't have before. Not able to post my alpha-build yet but I can write about my experiences with the build. First of all: there are just two problems, great build! Thanks to you, Sovyn, for all the work you did so far, my Templar is my favourite character ever because of your build! Now to the problems: - Dmg sources you can't block/evade/mitigate through armor like elemental ailments. Huge problems with lightning/shock. Considering to include Elemental Adaption (now between Witch and Templar)/Crystal Skin+Avoid Shock x 2 into the build. It's just 5 points starting from Ondar's Guile and you really only need it after reaching 70+ maps - Block recovery! I couldn't really include block recovery yet to my gear, so playing with such a high block chance was sometimes a bit "laggy", now with the redesign of the Marauder starting area we could catch some block nodes there before heading towards the Duelist starting area Still playing around with the Skilldrasil, letting you guys know if I have a good idea. And of course I'm psyched to see your build ideas to take the Lazy to the next level! Cheers Nuit
After playing around with the new tree a bit, I'm torn between going for 39% additional block chance (which means I save about five or six passive points but have to use a lowly 350 evasion shield) or going for 43% additional block chance (which means I have to go all the way to the Ranger nodes but can use a 1100 evasion shield). I am leaning towards the first option because I'm in desperate need of additional life nodes...any input on that?
My 39% build would have something like 140% increased maximum life 128% increased Armour 95% increased Defenses from Shield 46% increased Evasion at level 65. I wonder if that's enough...the 43% build would only have 116% increased life. scroogetemplar / scroogewitch / scroogemarauder Freezing Pulser (safe + affordable): https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1529856 Last edited by scrooge999 on Mar 5, 2014, 7:48:59 AM

Heya all and Sovyn!
So no block nerf (except BoR and AA - excellent) but what about cwdt? any general news on gem nerfs? Also - @Sovyn - I know You are working on the new talent build, when can we expect it? And it would be really awesome if You could calculate and show difference between new and previous build:) cheers
I tried this build with new passvie skill tree. Just 104 skill points but it's better than 120 skill points in old tree

We gain a little bit of damage. As always, the Mara area is best avoided so far, but I will keep looking at it.
" I tested similar, but there is not enough life and very little damage. :)
" Hi Nuit! I'm glad you are enjoying your templar. :) Shock - This is a gearing issue and only for endgame. A low cost solution is: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Fairgraves%27_Tricorne Just pop it on before certain bosses. Or, there are two spell block shields that you can keep on switch. Or, you can level up all three purity auras and just run the one most needed for a given boss for the 3 or 4% overcap on that resist. After all, for spell-heavy bosses, you don't need to run Determination, so might as well fill that space with something useful. Block recovery - never found a need for this. With plenty of life, you won't get stunned unless you take a huge hit. Wearing a shield makes no difference one way or the other in practical terms, other than not taking the actual damage from said huge hit, most of the time. Usually you get some block recovery on gear just by accident.
" This is 120points build right? IGN: Wanderiin
