They are still solid but yeah - it is a 33% nerf to the crit multiplier. Since crit cap will be easier to hit than ever facebreakers seems like a pretty solid pick xD
Thoughts on Duelist/Champion with Forty as a tankier class option? Otherwise I was leaning towards Raider. I'm just not sure if the trade of ranger evasion/life for duelist attack speed/small evasion life nodes out weight the fortify buff?

Also can anyone confirm what 'increased effect of Fortify on you' does? The Fortitude path gives a total of 20% increased effect of Fortify. Does that increase Fortify's '20% reduced damage taken from hits' by 20% making Fortify give 24% reduced damage?

Neversink updates the guide. I just play bow Ranger x)
Honestly I am wondering if the scion might be slightly better than the ranger for most bow builds now. Assassin + deadeye or assassin + raider seems like it might be better than a pure ranger build. The power charges and base crit and maim from assassin would just be sooo fucking nice. Combined with deadeye the ability to get easy pierce and 1+ arrow for amazing drillneck TS potential, raider lets you get rid of blood dance or blood rage and onslaught.

The only thing I see ranger being better for is pathfinder with blast rain and lightning arrow because of the 10% penetration is just OP as hell for those builds, seriously being able to hit 60% pen total now is just amazing.

I am seriously thinking about bringing back lightning arrow seeing all the new penetration nodes.

You are only listing the ascendancy class benefits and compare them. Do a passive tree and compare them :) Take all factors into account. Not saying you are wrong or Scion is a bad idea. Just check the numbers one more time :)

I did compare them, You lose the heavy draw and deadly draw clusters vs the ranger and the start for the scion would really really suck since your going to lack in life for a good while.

I think that the 1% base crit and 150% extra easy crit in power charges though makes up for it in pure damage. It is really close though, you are right that its probably not worth it because of the terrible terrible start you would have trying to go scion as you would get no life on the tree and poor damage until probably halfway through cruel.

So, before I could have one tree, and switch between TS and LA as needed.

Do you think this is still viable, since TS would be better with Deadeye and LA with Pathfinder?

Or is going LA/Deadeye also an option?
