[3.0] NeverSink's ♣ INDEPTH Tornado&Archer Guide ♣ Beginner friendly ♣ Rapid clear ♣ All bosses
I'm kind of eying this build (or something like it) for the 1m, but I had three questions I wanted to turf you guys if you didn't mind.
1) If I slot LGoH in one of those Tornado links (because HC), will I get 4 hits of health on a successful LMP shotgun-spray? I've been a bit spoiled by the great LGoH survivability from RoA spam in previous builds. 2) How important is crit to this build? I see a lot of ideas revolve around it, but I've never really paid much attention to crits or built around them. Could it work fine with crit nodes re-allocated towards defense (or Phys DPS), or is the crit work providing a really big chunk of power here? 3) In that vein, why is Assassin's Mark so highly pushed against something like Projectile Weakness, which also grants piece and knockback? Thanks for your time. Expected nerfs:

1. yes.
2. crit is by far the best way to scale damage as an archer. So yes, it matters a lot. For HC, you should be fine if you aim for the wheel of life (ex.). But you can even do without it. With life rolls everywhere you should be able to achieve 5k hp with 16x% life. 3. the marks gives you power charges, which increase your crit chance very sensibly. And afaik, projectile weakness chance to pierce doesn't increase your damage with drillneck, because it's applied on monsters, it doesn't grant a bonus to you. Ranger builds list: /917964 When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch. Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart... Last edited by Panini_aux_olives#1967 on Mar 23, 2015, 3:45:21 AM

" Not sure what Neversink is doing but I recently made a Windripper build but I built it similar to how you build a voltaxic character that stacks lightning damage. Since Windripper's main damage is 1-100 lightning, the idea is to stack lightning damage on gear and take Arcing Blows, Forces of Nature etc. See my post here for more details, I got the idea from the Purple Rain build but I wanted more DPS: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1096864/page/4#p10293375 The advantage of building this way is that you do not have to trek around the tree getting aura nodes since you are running only Wrath, and then Herald of Thunder and Herald of Ice - since the heralds do not benefit from aura nodes. As you can see we do not run Anger. So the way I built is different from the traditional Windripper build of getting aura nodes and the low-life versions. You save a lot of points this way that you can use for more DPS/defense. I was using some cheap gear (Rat's Nest) etc. and was getting 55K split arrow with 90% crit chance, and 50K elemental hit with 95% crit chance. One thing to note is that leech is a problem with elemental builds however using Berek's Pass allows you to sustain split arrow. You need to add a few mana nodes / use flasks to sustain elemental hit continuous attacks. Last edited by Ceryneian#3541 on Mar 23, 2015, 8:44:32 AM

" Thanks PAO. I'll be a crit-stacking, life-gaining machine! Expected nerfs:

Well Torment just ended today and I finally get to use my new toys
I started with this guide: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1168755 Was pretty good for me, as it was my first POE character and I enjoyed grinding through everything with her. The Passive Tree is very, very different between that guide and this one, so I'm in the process of leveling a new Ranger with this guide in mind. That said... Current Gear
Spoiler
The Shadows and Dust will eventually have a Vaal Haste setup in them, haven't gotten around to it yet and was using my old Split Arrow/CoH/Assassin's Mark on there before. Gems were removed to avoid confusion. I also have these in the Stash that I can potentially swap in and out:
Spoiler
Keep in mind since I've been playing the other build that some Gems still have to be leveled. Comments: I absolutely loved Shadows and Dust. The only massively duplicated map I had was Colonnade so I did some different gear combinations. Reached some pretty decent Rampage bonuses during as well. I don't think I would go back to Maligaro's. I actually felt like the Harbinger only performed a little bit better than my old Infractem, which is odd considering the DPS increase from the jump. I tried a a Trap Setup with it, then a no-Trap setup. That said, I felt that the Lioneye's Glare actually performed the best, but only by a little bit since the Punctures were dead on. Is there an optimal way to use Puncture? My Sheet DPS with Tornado Shot is only ~6.2K right now, but that's mainly due to Passives I would assume. The Rare Cutthroat Garb above and the Resists on it allows me to use Atziri's Step if I change my Shadows and Dust to RRRR and move the CWDT Setup there (so Atziri's can Support the Vaal Haste/Blink Arrow Setup). However, Evasion only differed by ~1000 with Queen of the Forest still having more, and me feeling a lot safer with it instead. I probably can't afford another armor at the moment, but I am going to assume that this would be the first thing that I should look at upgrading? Looked at poe.trade earlier, pretty much wanna cry when I see these prices... Fake Temp League Elitists LUL Last edited by _Saranghaeyo_#5448 on Mar 24, 2015, 1:41:45 AM

so
I have at least big luck and crafted this bow. Its enought for all maps and atziri. But now i will try uber. What should i do. Should i mastercraft crit on it with elron or should i try to et/ex it for more attack speed. or should i mastercraft crit an yolo exalt to hope for hybrid phys/acc. Some ideas to help? Thx p.s. i used a good lioneyes till now. And i dont think i makes a real difference to harbringer. And i had no probs with reflect. But it makes a big difference in clear speed. I cant belive it. :-) |

" first of all, ur right, u had insane luck. in terms of crafting, i wouldnt recommend to rather et/ex it , nor yolo exalt it, but meta craft it with elreon. You will def need the extra crit chance and the as for further damage boost. Also put the 20% Quality on it. After that, u will have a very very good harb, with at least 350plus pdps (depens on the as roll, could ofc be higher though) with nice crit ! enjoy! |

Tanks for your comment :-)
I do it with elron. But if i give 2 ex for elron perhaps i try a 3 ex for luck :-) without et. |

Heya,
first of all a huge thanks to everyone (notably: Panini_aux_olives) for providing valuable feedback and helping out other users. It's nice to see people helping out each other. Also congrats to all the sick harbinger crafts, I've been seing lately. I'm considering joining the 1-month league today (I don't like standard, so I usually only stick around in the first month after a new league starts). Not sure what I'll be running yet. Suggestions welcome, I've played a whee too much tornado ranger recently :D, might take a break until next league. ...I've been actually considering a ranger wander, which looks dubiously like this build.. I've been definitely playing this too much. ~~Neversink --------------------------- As for the Windripper: I currently can't find the motivation to finish it on the level I usually write guides. It works out great though (mana management being the only problem, I'm not 100% sure about). I'll likely add some brief item- and skilltrees these days for the people who want to play around it a bit. Please don't PM me ingame with filter/guide questions, post them on the forum, after reading the FAQ. Last edited by NeverSink#3349 on Mar 24, 2015, 7:46:31 AM
