I kinda like the delay due to quality issues being fixed.
If the quality does not match the delay - then it is sad indeed. On the other hand I can understand the frustration people being mislead for the 4th time in a row pretty much. "promised" was each 2 months either POE1 or POE2 release. Instead of 60 days -> 75 days are okay. Beyond that is considered a lie to please at first and then disappoint later. Keep in mind that the free to play release is "planned" for this end of year - which is not going to happen as 1.0. So be ready to hear a delay for that until some time in 2027. Which is fine -> but honesty is missing. Last edited by b44dss#1052 on Apr 27, 2026, 7:08:43 AM

" There is no honesty missing. They told us they want to have this scedule but they never promised. People just put words in their mouth. Also they told us, they hope to make it but there can always be delays due to suprising stuff (bugs etc.) <-- people ignore that because its not part of their made up dream world. They hope if they ignore the facts hard enough, they never happened. Mark and Jonathan always conclude with "We HOPE to bring [insert stuff] with the next patch." People delete the words "hope to" from their minds and exchange it with "will". Then they are mad their fantasy didnt match reality. If the forums were a mediaval court, it would be filled with jesters and doomsayers Last edited by Dovolan#6140 on Apr 27, 2026, 10:52:13 AM

" Yes, pay now and hope/assume that despite the track record it's all just gonna get magically fixed and balanced after 1.0. Pay no mind that adding new features to a game while leaving core imbalance issues unaddressed will cause a cascade of further imbalance, bugs, etc. Personally don't care about the delay, but my default assumption is they're just understaffed or behind and not hitting goals and targets for new MTXs and monetization...not that they need more time to implement some great game changes/fixes coming that they never speak publicly about. |

don't worry guys. this is the last delay and the free to play release will be as said beforehand :-D :-D :-D
there is nothing to be mad about - there was never a "promise". you need to understand corpo talk form this indie dev team ^^ ^^ |

" What track record? Wrong forum? People treat EA as a live release and if you point out the ridiculousness of this they just go "yeah but 1.0 will be just as bad because my magic 8 ball said so". This example above even stating it is his "default assumption". You are posting in bad faith. Why? It makes no sense at all. None. Especially given GGG's track record. |

" Not sure if I am getting your point clearly, so I'll go all over the place. 1. I doubt creating MTX is what delays them, and it should be rather the opposite. What they've done since the POE2 launch has been pretty much releasing packs that are compatible for both games - or at least the POE1 packs have been compatible with POE2 (lost interest in POE1 since POE2 came out so really haven't tried whether the POE2 packs work for POE1). Having this said, it should hint that the same MTX team works behind both games, and this team has been pretty much cooking up overall good packs simultaneously for both games, which should throw out the argument that they are delaying due to MTX mishaps in the design or whatever. 2. Another point would be - if they truly just wanted to release as many cosmetics as possible so they could monetize more, I doubt that this would also have been an issue as they could just create a plethora of customisation pixels for everyone's taste. The game is stunning so there should be something of a liking to anyone in the end, if one would want to spend cash on the game at all, that is. There's still a lot from POE1 that needs to be migrated to POE2, but instead of GGG just throwing out everything at once, they rather take their time and give us small bites back each patch. If they truly only cared about the monetization solely, they would have outsourced a substantial amount of people to work on cosmetics only, and this would have been done in the first months of the POE2 release, or even before that, perhaps their philosophy would have been to release 100+ cosmetics each month (or whatever absurd amount possible). 3. Why would you think they are not hitting their goal? Both games are pumping numbers, and they said themselves that for POE2 their expectations have been met in plenty. I don't know how much their revenue is actually so I won't make up assumptions, but honestly they've been delivering good stuff so I don't see a reason why true fans wouldn't support them Lastly, I also am not very happy on the delay, but honestly touching grass is a good thing + plus I am pretty certain they will deliver a banger patch. They should be aware by now that expectation is high for the upcoming patch and if they truly want us to be understanding of the delay, they wouldn't disappoint with what they are cooking. |
