Mac M3 Pro – Game won’t start, stuck on “downloading content”

I couldn't get in using Steam either on Macbook, standalone client worked after an update!

Just managed to make it work (M3 MAX here)
I was suffering from ALL the above - "patch exists", never ending patch cycles, 5-6 times login and the PID problem.

I reinstalled everything etc. - what others did - nothing worked.

I then did the following, perhaps SOME of this can help you guys out:

- Browse local files
- Locate "PathOfExileClient" and execute it => this starts a download of the entire patch from an independent client
- After 2 hours of download (very slow speed for some reason) I started the game FROM THAT LUNCH => still an error

- I THEN had an option to "Update" on the Steam client. I did that => again download => validate patch.

Entered the game and MANAGED to login!

Some combination of the above worked for me, hope this helps someone :)
