Mac M3 Pro – Game won’t start, stuck on “downloading content”

I’m using a MacBook with an M3 Pro chip.
After selecting a server and trying to launch the game, I get an error saying that I need to download an update.

However, in Steam there is no Update button and Steam doesn’t show that any update is available.

When I try to launch the game through Steam, it briefly shows “Launching – downloading content”, but the game still fails to start.
If I close and try again, Steam attempts to download the content again every time.

So it looks like Steam keeps trying to download something but never actually completes the update.

Has anyone experienced the same issue on Apple Silicon Macs?

Same Issue here, Macbook Pro M2, and I was playing "without issues" before that.

I also have a MacBook, everything was working fine for me too, but now I haven’t been able to log into the server for about 20 minutes.

Same thing for me. MacBook Pro M3 with 26.3 macOS.

After one disconnect (after I had been playing for about 2h'ish from league start time) I started getting the need to patch the game error. I think it started to happen after the first hotfix.


If I just ignore that login error and keep on pressing Log in, after about 5ish times I do that, game goes into an error loop. The pid numbers are different every time


Also, after I have this error and close the game, the game always checks for updates and does the "Validating Files" thing, after that the game launches and the same error still appears.

Reinstalling the game, restarting router, restarting Mac and also clearing the DNS Cache didn't do anything.

same, also tried changing gateways

Full reinstall does not fix.
