Deadlock Detected
|
COPIED FROM ANOTHER POST I MADE
Greetings, I am currently plagued by an issue while playing the game that involves complete freezing of the game every few minutes, followed by a popup that reads "Deadlock Detected". In the log files, the error right before the crash is "Deadlock detected with timeout 10000ms; running graph nodes: Present". This does not automatically go away, nor does it end the game process on its own. Even if I force the game process to end via the taskbar option "End task", the next time I open the game, it still crashes before the GGG icon even appears. The task manager also does not start and instead freezes. The start menu refuses to open as well. I cannot even shut down or restart my PC. The only fix is to literally kill switch my laptop using the power button. These are very serious issues and absolutely not to be expected in a game the calibre of Path of Exile. Never has a game ever forced me to go to such drastic lengths just to run it. It began on league start 3.28. Since then it keeps coming back with varying frequency. I have attempted to solve it using all the usual methods, namely, updating drivers, re-downloading the game, clearing my cache, testing different versions of NVIDIA drivers and countless other minor fixes. Nothing worked at all. I play on a laptop with device specifications as follows: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz (1.80 GHz) Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce MX130 Dedicated video memory: 2048 GDDRS OS: Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 25H2 Installed on 21-09-2025 OS build 26200.7840 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.291.0 I have also attached my log files as a drive link (as it is larger than 75MB) up to the last instance of the crash right before this mail was sent. The crash data is at the bottom of the file naturally. There are many other crashes accessible by searching for the keyword "Deadlock". https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oOud2CAXSAzeXEqE9oS-5lbAmwF--gQV/view?usp=drive_web If any other information is required, do let me know. I sincerely hope that this issue does not go unnoticed and I receive a working fix as this is affecting not just the game since kill switching a device is not healthy practice but I am left with no other fix. Sincerely, Rawkstar |

hi! i not an expert but i do have some technical skills troubleshooting / bypassing computer issues. if your nvidia users go to this directory and delete the folder "DXCache" located here:
C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache delete DXCache folder. hope this helps solve your Deadlock Detected Issue. |

DXCache delete:
It didn't help in my case. The error mainly occurs when you are in Alt+tab for a long time. Last edited by Rels_38rus#4256 on Mar 16, 2026, 7:21:52 AM

Got "deadlock detected" 5 times in a row in a single blight map. I get it sometimes but never like this. Before going into the map i changed my unique on kill effect to "lion's might" so maybe it's correlated? I'll try playing with no on kill MTX at all and see what happens. Maybe it has nothing to do with it, i'm just exploring possibilities. Also tried deleting DxCache and it did nothing.

I started having this problem after I applied the quest Astrolabe on my Atlas. As soon as I applied it, the game crashed with the "Deadlock detected" error and now every time I open the Atlas the game crashes with the same error.

Updated to new drivers, cache cleared, still crashing. We need GGG to look into this, stat.
