Step away from the computer mate (not just this game, but all of them).
If dying to something so simple, and loosing something so irrelevant, makes you THIS angry.. well.. time for some tea and a book

That is hours upon hours of farming lost in an instant. Anyone would be upset. Moreover, these kinds of overly punishing mechanics have no place in Softcore. They shouldn't even exist.

Counter argument: if you struggle with pirates, maybe don't invest time with Kingsmarch, or lower you expectations? This is the equivalent of loosing your s**t 'cus you died in a Blueprint you spend time/coins/revils on, or loosing your sanctum run on 4th layer, or bricking literally ANYTHING in the game with risk/reward.

If you engage with content you can't do, change your playstyle to match your abilities, instead of asking for the game to change for everyone else.

Except there is literally nothing a person can do about how punishing some of these mechanics are. There's nothing to change. So the only thing to do is either uninstall or ask for the game to change.
If you think fail states shouldn't exist this is not the game for you.

Its not about fail states, its about the game being too punishing toward failure.

Relating to his specific case still, he could've
a) not engaged with Kingsmarch, as ships/mappers get's Pirated
b) if engaging with Kingsmarch, be ok with potential losses due to his inabilities
c) if engaging with Pirates, not choose to Resuce, but instead Ransom
d) if keen on engaging, ask for help in global/with friends
e) if keen on soloing, watch a 3 min video about the mechanic
f) if still unsure about mechanics, ensure your char don't fall over
g) if dying, shrug it off, it's just a game

He chose neither of the above, and instead blamed the game for his short comings and uninstalled.

The game really only punishes you, if you keep making bad decisions.
If you choose risk to get reward, you can't complain about "punishing". Well, you can, but you doubtfully will earn much sympathy.

This. GGG literally has been buffing summoners the past couple leagues, purely because of how punishing the archetype is towards failure. Having AG and/or spectres permanently die means losing a significant amount of DPS, which no other build has to deal with, and GGG has solved that.

So, why not do something about the boss encounters for ships and mappers? The price of failure for that could just be the total loss of cargo for ships, and all maps plus loot for mappers.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley
Honestly dying to the pirate boss is impressive. Ive actually tried to kill myself by stacking the increased damage taken debuff and the anchor and mortars have still never killed any of my characters.
This boss is almost impossible to die on even on the most pepega glasscannon build. What on earth are you playing?

The Boss itself already tells you a valid method. So GGG offers a method of not having to fight the encounter to avoid any consequences.

Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Wow, that sucks, OP. I never bother rescuing them, and now I'm glad I don't bother.
