"manic" and "schrophenic" names feels wrong

You're searching for a problem where there isn't one.

In fact, just saying problem can be offensive to people that have problems.

actually OP does have a point tho.

shizo is a real medical term thats quite modern. it hits a bit close to home.

ever seen any modern game have a in game plague called AIDS or COVID?

theres a reason why this is the case. we play games for escapism.

and if you think its not an issue, GGG themselves actually REMOVED many lines from delirium because they know it can make players with mental issues feel less comfortable.

have some empathy. saying that its offensive to people that have problems is so damn ironic.

OP is voicing out FOR those very people.

Adding to this, there are ways for games to apply mental health in constructive ways without diminishing or gamifying it. The Hellblade games, for example, has the main protagonist suffering from psychosis and is considered by many to be good. Mouthwashing is another good game that delves into mental health experiences.

Slapping on schizophrenia to a perk name is questionable at best.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

My comment about problems was satire. I was merely making fun of anyone that is just searching for someone that could be offended in everything, everywhere, all the time.

its hard to see intent behind words.

if you did not explain people could view you a different way. and if people dont read your explanation, their views on you would be inaccurate.

i tend to get downvoted on reddit whenever i forget the /s tho at times i dont care as my reddit accounts are all throw aways at this point.

Folks, are you really proposing this because it's needed, or because it makes you feel good to fight for your imaginary victims? As I mentioned before, I have certain issues (don't see a need to disclose it) and seeing a word describing my condition does not affect me. If anything, the delirium dude taunts are terryfying, but that's all.

Stop treating people like me like some cracked, vulnerable egg that needs to be protected with 20 layers of cloth. I'm a normal human being that simply got an unlocky health roll.

the suggestion is for people who need it. simple as that.

i dont get why people are going so far to feel offended by it. if you're suffering and dont need it. thats good on you. but what about those who do?

There were a few people I was talking to about these abilities who were a bit surprised by their names. No particularly strong opinions, but some people might want to go with something that doesn't reference specific illnesses. It's not a big deal to me, but it's something that might merit discussion.

I just don't want to be treated differently, that's all. The thing that reminds me about my condition is living with it. I don't mind it being referenced in media, i.e. games. Although I see you point, maybe some people are still adjusting to the thought of having to live with such a conditions and they might have much more emotional response to it than I do nowadays.

to be honest i never knew you had any issues nor do i think anyone did. no one was singling you out. nor do i think its their intention

and yeah, sometimes we have to stop thinking so much about ourselves. sometimes its easy to fall into the "if it doesnt affect me it doesnt affect others mindset".

this suggestion was specifically for people who need it.

anyway, i hope you're doing fine. cheers
