HARBINGER SHARD COLLECTION [SUGGESTION]

if you want to spend your time doing all of that then you have to spend your time clicking it. If they made it easier you would make no currency doing it because everyone would have max stacks of it in their inventory

I already get 5000x stacks of jewellers, alts and chaos when doing ambush strats+sanctum lol, nothing would change. Just those 2 mechanics give you an insane amount of bubblegum currency. My fusings still sell for 1500 to 1 div or so, alts are still expensive cus people need them to craft and so on.

This economy excuse just doesn't work, and we literally won't know until we try the game with this QOL anyway. Nobody knows what the prices of currencies would be, if they change at all. This is all hypotheticals.
if all currency was just vaccumed up and the drop rates werent significantly nerfed nobody would be buying any currency

Nobody is saying that it should be picked up automatically like gold or azurite, just that 1 click should pick up all small currencies in a radius. And again, we really don't know what would happen until they actually try this out. They made currency drop in bigger stacks instead of singular ones a while ago, and that didn't affect the economy at all lol
yes it did. the entire economy started inflating like crazy around that time. The most expensive belt was hh and it was insanely priced at 80-100 exalts and when mageblood came out you started seeing several hundred and around that same time is when the economy every league just exploded to where slightly above average people were farming up stacks of mirrors.

like look at yourself for example. you farm hundreds of divines a league and you're complaining about xp loss and clicking alt shards.

Two things: Slippery slope arguments are ridiculous. We have ALREADY gotten a huge QoL with regards to shards dropping in full stacks and, omg guess what?!?!?!, there was NO push for auto-loot everything because of it! It was accepted, it was good, and people moved on.

Slippery Slope can be applied to anything and everything and is the exact OPPOSITE of having a meaningful discussion on any topic. Change can't possible occur WITHOUT their being some sort of "slippery slope".

Shards: The game has transformed since Harbinger. Shards below chaos have absolutely no business even EXISTING in the game to be filtered or not. They should be removed. Even in Act 1 of the game, we end up with plenty of FULL alch, trans, alt orbs. So why, on an endgame mechanic, are we depreciating even the lowest currency to shards still? It is an OBJECTIVE mistake for anyone to waste their time seeing or picking these up.

That said....the solution to the problem isn't "just filter them out". That can't be the solution. The solution to a loot problem should ALWAYS be changing the loot so that LESS filter is needed. Always. 100% of the time. That would be a REAL solution.

And....on the nature of shards: like the other league mechanics that have made great strides in minimizing shard pickup stress by vacuuming them together, full stacking them, or other means...it is high time that Harbingers did the same. At the very least, have every individual Harbinger vacuum each shard TYPE into 1 stack. If it was going to drop 4 stacks of 3 transmute shards....that should auto-combine to 1 stack of 12. Auto-creating full orbs when needed.
Same should hold true for boss harbis: 1 stack PER currency PER harbi boss.

Starting anew....with PoE 2
For harby its likely there are so many different shards that if they made less overall shards, you would never find the rare ones. Filtering them out is the best solution. Every shard stack has a chance to be fracturing/mirror/ancient/anull. It just so happens that the weighting causes most of them to be the bad ones so you filter them.

I could understand it being annoying if you can't filter but you can. The solution has already been given to people.

I would rather they not touch the harby mechanic if its going to end up like the divination card rework and the scarab rework. Also old breach was more fun to do, it was just less rewarding.

It is a slippery slope, and all of this Qol is. It also removes layers of work/progression. Async trade also removes a layer of interacting with other players. Currency exchange made sense because of how tedius that can be to convert currency. Async trade removes almost all interaction with other people. If you play sctrade I understand that nobody is taking the time to talk to other people and ask them things because their divines/hr are at risk if they do. In hctrade there is actually a community though and people will talk to you about their builds and strategies.

The player interaction in SC Trade before this patch amounted to: whisper 50 people, nobody responds even for a 1 div trade because they're far too busy in their 50 div/h map. Even though I always instantly TP out of my map to trade and invite people , and they would still decline because they also spammed 50 people and someone else invited faster than me. That was infuriating.

And then you got the whole fake "ty" after every trade, especially fake if its an automated message and the person isn't even typing it. I'm glad all of that got deleted, I don't want to interact with players, I just want their items. And now you can sell stuff while offline, and undercut all you want just like an Auction House in an MMO. I always undercut by a few chaos on t17s and 5 people teleport in to buy them because "ooooooh I save 2c", its actually hilarious lol

Really no friction in trade was lost, only the annoyance at people not responding and having to whisper 50 players. Still takes about the same amount of time to look for an item,go to hideout and buy it. And depending on the hideout, the loading screen can be long too so that's fun.
I agree, that is one of the reasons i hated sctrade. Nobody was interested in how their behavior affected other people.

The obsession with divines/hr strategies is the problem though. As a nem 3 hater, I hate to say it, but it was better when nem 3 was the meta farming strat. It was so annoying to do that most mid/low level people weren't even interested in it. Currency farming strats being all over youtube certainly didnt help the inflation.
I remember when peoples youtube videos would be like. make 4 exalts an hour doing this strat. Now people make 3000 chaos a map. Its become quite ridiculous.
