Several times in different maps i couldn't blink nor teleport out of drowning orbs, what's going on?

If it is getting to -100% action speed it would brick the use of instant skills as well, like being frozen? Could this be happening though, how much is the penalty on the orb? All I can see on the eater wiki page is you have 3 seconds. As is being mentioned in the thread, that may be much shorter bases on runegraft of the warp. Would the action speed really be getting to -100%? Is there a static value on action speed debuff, or does ramp up, or get varied based on other modifiers. It sounds like it is happening to OP every time, on every map they encounter. If these additive action speed and slows are in the range of 30%, like a lot of debuffs in the game, there would still need to be 3+ of them applying to get to -100% threshold. The delirium hands aoe is also -50%. " It's instant. There is no ramp. No other map mods affect it. I've died to this plenty myself. The second the drowning debuff starts your character stops. The ramp variant would include the -3% action speed per skill use map modifier , Paralysing Touch which is a on hit delirium debuff for -6% action speed per stack for up to 10 stacks or petrification statues. This can still happen but is way less likely. |

" It usually goes like this: i get surprise-hugged by an orb, i try to warp away (muscle memory), doesnt work, then blink away (once my brain memory kicks in) and then it doesnt work and screen is half-black and i just roll my face on the keyboard in hopes that this time something will work. It doesn't. Edit: if I get inside the orb by myself, i usually can escape it (by quickly warping away), but if orb rolls onto me, it's just a black hole. Not every single time, but every 3rd orb? Sometimes every second map with drowning orbs? That's the thing. I can't pinpoint what is going on, but i know something is NOT right. My guess is runegraft of warp is mechanically messing with drowning orb. I am aware that they drown you 30% faster, but maybe the orbs debuff, while affected by runegraft, just works stronger in some way aswell? It's frustrating. I hate "unfair deaths". If it is not happening every time, it is possible it might be something like scarletsworld is pointing out. Maybe there is other slow mods causing you to hit -100% action speed some times.
I would suggest always trying to FB out of it first if you can manage it, and see if it is still happening. That might rule out some things and indicate that it is getting to 0% action speed. The runegraft is new this league, so maybe it has some funny interactions. Perhaps also try with it unallocated for a few maps to test it. I know that probably bad for your build but might help rule that out. The orb mechanic is also fairly recent, particularly as a map mob. I tried to look for some information about the values on PoeDB, but did not find anything further. Are you running delirium? Scarletworld is suggesting it might be -50 + -50. You have ailment immunity, so wont be cold ailments, but there are some other things that might be combining. This is a bit of a strange mechanic for maps now that I think about it more. Instant death if you do not react. Without much counter for most classes. I would not be running that mod in HC, that is for sure. Balance of terror might be an option, since you are using temp-chains, but I think it might only work for self cast. So you would need to be self casting it on those maps if that is the case. It's become one of the biggest things in new endgame content, being able to deal with these slows. Part of why trickster has been very strong for a while now. Thanks for suggestions @Belegur85 I just hope this is a bit more common issue and i'm not the only one struggling.
If it's just me, then i guess everything works as it should... Drowning orbs and Volatile dead are the worst 2 modifiers in T17. Anyways.. I just will avoid the modifiers like a plague now. |
