Several times in different maps i couldn't blink nor teleport out of drowning orbs, what's going on?
As in title. I have both frost blink and lightning warp, both set up to cast no matter where i point my mouse. In both cases there were no monsters nearby as i've killed them all and while looting a drowning orb sneaked on me (delirium fog + grey map makes them invisible pretty much) and no matter what neither blink or warp didn't work. No obstacles either.
And this I could shrug as 1 weird situation.. But i find drowning orbs every 3rd map and every time it's similar bullshit. Also in the same map as from the first example another orb caught me offguard - i blinked away only to die quarter of a second later in new spot i blinked to. Guys.. What the hell is going on? When you are waiting for your movement skill to proc are you moving or stationary?
I don't know how these orbs work but is it possible that you need to be walking to disengage them? Almost like the opposite of grasping vines. One lowering action speed and the other movement speed. Likely completely wrong, I can't think of how it works in the Eater fight exactly. The only other thing I can think is maybe something to do with skill cost. |

Another map, another drowning orbs and.. again.. nothing i can do. I get massively slowed down to the point movement no longer matters and my blinks simply stop working
Seriously, drowning orb reek of being bugged. |

Its your runegraft of the warp. It makes the orbs drown you faster so you probably arent able to react in time.
Refund that runegraft and try another map. Your amulet anoint is also contributing to this. Take both of those off and see how the you fair vs the drowning orbs. For further context the drowning orb puts a debuff on you that causes your character to die after 3 seconds. Anything that causes debuffs on you to expire faster will lower the amount of time it takes for you to drown. Last edited by gladiatorpie#3317 on Aug 6, 2025, 9:42:10 PM

I'm aware that runegraft affects drowning orbs... drowning speed. But in this case i am playing like squirrel on coffeine, i definitely (over)react whenever drowning orb catches me. I spam the living shit out of my blink and warp but none do anything
I simply can't blink away as i see screen blacking out |

There could always be some latency with the action speed slow it puts on you at play but I still say your issue would be fixed if you werent dying 45% faster.
Did you at least try escaping the orbs without those two things on? |

it's either lightning warp or frost blink or.. well.. im way too slowed to escape by just running.
Sadly i'm not trickster/jugg nor I don't have other fancy tech to simply ignore the bullshit slow that comes with drowning orbs. I'm playing FROSS (as you can check in my profile) it's all about warping around and when i suddenly cant warp anymore i feel it. It's noticeable. funfact. I didnt have frostblink before, but because of drowning balls ive decided to add it to the build. But.. blink doesn't work either, so that's that. Is action speed used in the calculation for lightning warp at all? Is the calculation done based off the base values of your movement speed and cast speed? Or, is it perhaps calculated after these are affected by action speed penalty. You are casting and moving slower when you have less action speed, so I am wondering if this bricks your lightning warp times as well?
It would not explain why frost blink is not proccing though, since it is instant. What do you mean by "I have both frost blink and lightning warp, both set up to cast no matter where I point my mouse."? I was assuming by this you meant you have the skills somehow automated, but looking on your Occultist, it looks like you have both set up for self cast? What action are you making when you get in the orb? Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Aug 7, 2025, 5:33:13 PM

" I meant ive enabled the "always attack (in this case cast spell) without moving" option on the skill, so this wouldn't be the case of me clicking too far away for blink to reach so my character would first move in the position for blink to reach and then cast it |

Selfquote from one of the other drowning orb threads:
" It's not necessarily a bug but it shouldn't be additive on players since it isn't additive on monsters yet it is. |
