Mercenaries of Trarthus Statistics

Some of the mercs I have ran across have one shot me, and I have no idea. I just thought that I was too squishy, but then I realized that the mercs were just too op. My atlas is nearly complete, with only the Coward's Trial and 2 other t16 maps not done, and I still find myself dying to a merc in a t5 Atoll map every now and again. Make it make sense....

One of these players didn't even die to the Mercenary, but got third partied by a Vendigo they had neglected to kill before beginning their duel.

omg hahaha
I died so many time by the infamous merc that it is stupid. Merc one shotting a fully geared player with resist capped and 100% spell suppress and other defensive layers make the merc reward/time/detour often not worth it. I still check every merc i see, but i ain't fighting the infamous unless the reward is really good and will probably die.
I'm not a pro and still consider myself a new player, there are so many thing not explained in game and playing on console really doesn't help since a lot of stuff we have no idea what it does (i.e. we can't see the buff /debuff text to know what they do).
They should update the post, Infamous Warpriest of the Ruckus has been hired.
You can see how players were killed, why cant that be a thing players can see.
Do you also have info on the accounts related to these stats? I feel like I'm that guy who skipped the Infamous Warpriest of the Ruckus to save exp but that might just be because of reading this post.
Every time I see mercenary, whatever he got in stash(divines, mirror, mageblod, whatever), I take his boots... its a power thing.
Does this include all league variations? Because I can understand someone choosing not to take an expensive item from a merc that can one-shot you in HC/Ruthless HC. That being said, stuff like chaos over The Squire sounds pretty funny.
Isn't it funny that they have these death recaps stored buy we don't have access to a death recap to know what killed us ?

I would argue that the fact that such a large proportion of the mercenaries highlighted were skipped, consistently, across both low and high level mercenaries, is a symptom of a failed implementation of this otherwise cool mechanic.

The fact that you are penalized for even looking at a mercenary (by losing Renown) motivates some players to simply not check them, even if Renown is a relatively minor mechanic.

The lethality of Mercenaries in the early days has also stained many players' perspective of them; after all, why even bother looking at a mercenary if it is highly likely to win the duel against you. The nerfs to mercs has helped somewhat with this, but it's still not worth risking death in many cases.

So true, I skipped something like 95% of mercs after the first day of the league Just because of how rippy they were. And some Still are unreasonably hard to not die to.
Never worth checking them, I treat it like checking random white chests or rocks spawned on the map - yes they can have mageblood in them XD But why would I bother.
