macos repeated prompt: Need to restart and update to the latest version after update to 3.26.0d

Today I started the game update and completed it, but now clicking on the path of exile.app keeps prompting:there has been a patch that you need to update to.

I always start the game by entering '~/Library/Application Support/Path of exit/', then right-click on `Path of exile.app` and click 'open'.

Seconding this issue, its kept happening with all the 3.26 patches. I'm trying a full reinstall to see if that fixes it but based on prior experience its at least partially something on their end, sometimes reinstalling fixes, other times just waiting a day or two does. Either way its exceedingly inconvenient, very annoying and goes to show that they really need to actually test their goddamn patches before pushing them out.

It is as simple as having a test rig of every OS they support and trying to run the patch on all of them to make certain it all works before pushing it to public. This is the same kind of issue as the Crowdstrike outage and demonstrates that they have no quality control and/or error checking in their pipeline, that it is repeatedly and reliably bypassed in order to push out updates faster or that they care so little about people who play on Mac that they cannot be bothered to put in the bare minimum of testing to ensure that no breaking bugs slip through.

Edit: Full reinstall didn't fix it, somethings broken on GGG's end again. Hopefully they'll fix it by tomorrow but based on past experience it might take as long as 48 hours for them to realize they have an issue and decide to put in the effort to actually fix it.

Same issue here. this is discouraging. first steam is broken, then a ray of hope with the stand alone client. now not even that. ive redownloaded the game 3 times now. same issue...
I see what's happening, the Update.zip file is not bringing up an updated client. It brings a client with a modified date of 6/29/25.

Takes some tinkering, but here is how you validate it by yourself.
Step 1: have POE installed through steam.
Step 2: have POE installed through stand alone client.
Step 3: copy the PathOfExileClient in the steam folder '/Users/~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Path of Exile/PathOfExileClient.app'
Step 4: Paste into stand alone client folder '/Users/~/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile'
Step 5: delete the Path of Exile executable in the stand alone client folder
Step 6: run the PathofExileClient.app in the standalone client folder.
Step 7: a file will get created for a few seconds called "Update.dat". Copy it while you can and save it in a separate folder as it will get deleted shortly (mine did).
Step 8: rename "Update.dat" to Update.zip and open it inside the stand alone client folder. It will create the updated "Path of Exile"
Step 9: see the modified date column. Suggesting GGG didn't even bother to update the client for MacOS, so the game is on a new version and the MacOS client is in the old version.

Thanks for making me waste hours in going through this and writing all this. Really nice of you guys... there was obviously not even the minimal smoke testing on this for Mac.

No love for Mac users, they don't even bother to update the client...

This seemed to not work in the morning(EU timezone), got fixed, managed to play for a while.

Trying now - I get the same issue again.

GGG please.
