"calling it completely "unplayable" is just as much of an exaggeration as you think I'm making. Yeah, some builds are struggling with defenses and mana management, but I've seen plenty of people clearing content just fine with elemental combos and proper positioning. The complexity I'm talking about isn't just one build - it's the interaction systems they're laying groundwork for. Sure, it's rough around the edges, but that's literally what early access means. Maybe "out of my mind" is a bit much when you're the one acting like the sky is falling over launch balance issues? |

A Witch huh. I actually made the effort of trying to level up a sorc using incinerate and it was an absolute nightmare. I had to PJO my main skill gem from normal difficulty and put additional sockets on multiple other skills as well and it still was a horrible experience. Somewhere over halfway through act 3 cruel, i just abandoned it. No amount of skill and twinking will ever make that fun.
Besides, the whole skill is garbage. It takes too long to start and then even longer to start doing any actual damage. I had to laugh at this video showcasing it against two or three small mob packs, which is indeed the only situation it can be used in. Try running this build into a simulacrum... Showcasing off builds that can't do all content in your game is showing us proof that balance sucks right now. Who wants to spend the time levelling up a character build that fails in a lot of situations ? And in the case of incinerate and surely many others, go through the nightmarish experience of actually trying to level it up ? Keep your builds. I feel that at some point the numbers will start speaking volumes. It's fun to demonstrate a build on white mobs, which can just as easily be killed without weapons in their hands or active skills, with a simple fist attack. It's unclear why developers don't listen to those who actually play, to those who support them with support packages, and to those who like the game. And they tell us about some kind of their "vision". If you want to impose your own style of play on everyone, this is not exactly what people want, just put your vision in a separate game mode, and everyone else has fun alone or with friends.

Sorc from the endgame perspective is unplayable, who wants to do mega combos to clear mobs when you have to do 10 maps to get a semi decent drop? The time spent to loot gain ratio is a joke. If you are not clearing maps in 3 to 7 minutes you are doing it wrong, and I'm talking juiced maps with pack sizes, packs, extra monsters, rarity, quantity, delirium, etc. The whole meaningful combat thing is wrong, it should be accompanied with meaningful loot and meaningful exp gain, i have 2 characters lvl 97 and 98 and any upgrade in gear is not under 50-100 divs. Now imagine wanting to level up or farm any equipment on a character that you have to be 200% careful not to die and takes forever to farm any good loot. The endgame is just not viable with sorc.

Cool builds, next time showcase them against the T4 pinnacles and a disgustingly juicy breach. No one makes a build for trash mobs.

" As a level 96 sorceress that has cleared all content...... it's pretty unplayable. The hoops you have to jump through and the sheer cost of gear required is unreachable for 90% of the playerbase. Just because 10% of people can play it due to sheer time investment doesn't mean it's playable. I have 400+ hours in my sorc this league and just recently cleared the last two T4 pinnacles because I needed a 60D wand and had to craft it because none with the stats I needed existed. [/quote] Thanks for proving my point? You literally cleared all content as sorc - that's the definition of playable. Having to invest 400 hours and craft your own gear isn't "unplayable," it's called progression in an ARPG. The fact that you needed specific gear and had to work for it doesn't make the class broken, it makes it challenging. Not everything needs to be handed to players on a silver platter. If 10% can do it consistently, that means it's possible and the other 90% need to improve their approach or accept they're not at endgame level yet. Your own success story kind of undermines your "unplayable" argument, don't you think? |
