That would be too strong if they kept it. Since you keep your progression, you can farm the key. If you could, you would stack lots of them and plan a full day of beating Catarina and open chests. Some people would destroy the economy in a single day.

Mercenaries do not need to meet attribute requirements outside of the above rule. Mercenaries need to be within 70% of level requirements of an item to equip it.

Does this only apply to low level mercenaries equipping high level gear or items. Or will it also stop a high level mercenaries from using low level uniques like goldrim or perquils toe?
