PoE2: Early Access or Paid Release in Disguise?
" It's worth mentioning that the Early Access buy-in comes with the equivelent value in shop currency/points. This is currency that most players would otherwise purchase eventually, in order to keep storage up to snuff. I ask this genuinely, because I don't know, but do other companies offer that same value? Because to me it seems fair. |

I think Most EAs are just "GoFundMe" to well fund the project befofre game is release. In return the dev give an beta version of the game for the payer.
I paid/partipate in most arpg in the last decades, Last epoch, wolcen, Grim dawn, Titan quest 2, undecembered etc... They are no difference from PoE2. GGG is no worse or better. Same with PoE2, I got keys for being a valuable customer (spent over 500€). What I was slightly disappointed is, I thought it would be a few months EA to polish any bugs or do last minute balance before final release. Th game has bee announced since 2018 or something. Starting as a new campaign for a major 4.0 update. That was 7 years ago!!!! They probably developed even longer. Does the game looked like a game developed for 7-8 years, with only 3 acts finished? The game started in development so long ago that it still uses Instance base levels and not full Continuous overworld that even grim dawn has. And everytime I heard about it, its getting closer to poE1, like adding sprint, common support gems. Seems like it coul be just PoE 1 with facelift and improvement and save all the development money. I mean we stull use the atlas system, just with background trees and hills now. Still mostly mapping and end game activities with some changes carried over from PoE1.....I cannot see why all these cannot be done in PoE1. Last edited by KiadawP#5072 on Aug 20, 2025, 8:30:53 AM
