Good job guys.

I mean.....read the posts. There is not a single negative comment here. Every single person has offered suggestions and reasoning, and no personal attacks at all. The OP (and now you) are the only ones putting words into other people's mouths.

Good job guys.

well some of you did tell OP what he needed to hear. but for OP's benefit let me give some info

maven will randomly occur on certain tiers of maps, and asks the player to challenge her invitations.

there are 2 ways to deal with this

1. DONT DO HER INVITES. this will lock the "quest" state so she will not invade your maps in the future. She will continue invading your higher tier maps to a certain point if you do challenge her invite.

2. COMPLETE HER INVITES. once you've completed her invites enough (progressed to higher tier invites), you will have the option to enable/disable maven from invading your maps.

so you have 2 choices on how to deal with this.

i've played this game for a long time so whenever i m having issues with using my weak ass build, i tend to just not bother with her invites until much later as its just unnecessarily difficult with little benefit (if you're weak). and only start clearing her invites later when i m stronger.

as for the negative forumers here. come on guys. its 2024. you still wanna gatekeep the game?

more players is almost always good. GGG makes more money, we get more content. more players means more ppl wanting to buy stuff on trade and sell stuff that more efficient players dont bother picking up.

None of these responses are overly negative and the only "jab" is the diablo suggestion. And its a light one at that in context of the rest of the post. The responses are all full of good and correct information about his options and what he is missing if he chooses not to engage with the maven.
One wonders how a player is supposed to suss out how things work in this game simply from the tool-tips.

The Maven's Beacon tool-tip:

"
Allows you to call the Maven to a map from your Map Device.

"
Right-click this item then left-click the Map Device in your Hideout to attach the Maven's Beacon.

From the Wiki entry on The Maven:
"
Progressing the Maven's questline allows the player to unlock the Maven's Beacon, which lets the player call upon the Maven to the map to witness you.

What the Beacon actually does, from the specific entry on it in the Wiki:
"
After interacting with the Map Device, the quest item will disappear and unlocks the option to have the Maven witness map bosses in the Map Device.

You don't even have to right-click/left-click the Beacon; just activating your Map Device with the Maven's Beacon in your inventory instantly activates it.

My thanks to those who actually tried to help me understand this.
